Chapter 4: "On the Run"

Minsoo's heart raced as they sped through the city, Jihoon's hands gripping the wheel with a fierce intensity.

"We need to get out of here, now," Jihoon growled, his eyes scanning the rearview mirror.

Minsoo nodded, still trying to process the events of the past hour. Jihoon had saved him, but at what cost?

As they hit the outskirts of the city, Jihoon's phone rang, shrill in the silence. He answered, his voice low and urgent.

"Brother, I—"

Jihoon's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. "I won't let you hunt me down, Ji-hyun."

Minsoo's eyes widened as Jihoon's brother, Ji-hyun, sneered through the phone.

"You're a traitor, Jihoon. And you'll pay for your betrayal."

Jihoon's face twisted in a snarl. "I'll never let you win."

With a sudden burst of speed, Jihoon took a sharp turn, leaving the city lights behind. They were on the run, hunted by Jihoon's own family.

Minsoo's heart pounded in his chest. What lay ahead? And could their love survive the danger that surrounded them?

Minsoo's eyes adjusted slowly to the dim light of the secluded cabin. Jihoon had brought him here, to hide from his family's wrath.

As they sat by the fire, Jihoon's eyes seemed to bore into his soul. "I'm sorry, Minsoo. I never meant to put you in danger."

Minsoo's heart ached, seeing the pain in Jihoon's eyes. "Why did you save me?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jihoon's gaze faltered, his voice cracking. "Because I love you, Minsoo. I couldn't let them hurt you."

Minsoo's eyes welled up with tears as Jihoon's words washed over him. He knew he felt the same, but the danger surrounding them seemed insurmountable.

Suddenly, Jihoon's expression turned serious. "There's something I need to tell you, Minsoo. Something about my past."

Minsoo's heart skipped a beat as Jihoon's eyes seemed to cloud over. What secrets was Jihoon hiding?

"Tell me," Minsoo urged, his voice soft.

Jihoon took a deep breath, his words spilling out in a rush. "I wasn't always a mafia leader, Minsoo. I was forced into it, after my father's death."

Minsoo's eyes widened, shock coursing through him. What had Jihoon endured?

Minsoo's eyes adjusted slowly to the dim light of the secluded cabin. Jihoon had brought him here, to hide from his family's wrath.

As they sat by the fire, Jihoon's eyes seemed to bore into his soul. "I have something to tell you, Minsoo."

Minsoo's heart skipped a beat. "What is it?"

Jihoon's voice was low, hesitant. "I didn't become a mafia leader by choice. I was born into it. And I've been trying to escape it ever since."

Minsoo's eyes widened in shock. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Jihoon's face twisted in anguish. "I was afraid of losing you. Afraid you'd see me as a monster."

Minsoo's heart ached as he reached out, taking Jihoon's hand. "I see you, Jihoon. Not the mafia leader, but the man behind the mask."

Jihoon's eyes searched his, filled with a deep longing. "Can you ever forgive me for lying to you?"

Minsoo's voice was barely above a whisper. "I already have."

As they embraced, the darkness outside seemed to recede, replaced by a glimmer of hope. But how long could they hide from the truth?
