Chapter 8: A Misunderstanding

As Emma recovered from her ordeal, a misunderstanding began to drive a wedge between her and Max.

Ryan's words, "You'll never have a happy family," kept echoing in Emma's mind. She started to doubt her relationship with Max, wondering if they were meant to be together.

Max, sensing Emma's distance, tried to reassure her. But his words only seemed to push her further away.

One day, while Max was out, Emma discovered a text message on his phone. It was from an unknown number, but the words made her heart skip a beat:

"This is your real mother," he said, his eyes welling up with tears. "She's been alive all along, and she's been searching for you."

Emma's world was turned upside down. Her whole identity was shaken.
