Episode 16

Gianna and the dragon went flying. They were training, although the young woman had been born with a natural talent for it, she didn't make any effort, and the dragon was swift.

Gianna felt alive; she felt the wind on her face and was free. She was at peace. That day, the bond with her dragon strengthened, and it didn't drop her. The speed was unique.

The dragon created a tunnel of water and fire and they came out spinning, swirling with the spectacle behind them.

"This is beautiful, Drago," she shouted from atop him. It was a wonderful moment.

From that day on, their routine was to go to the lake and talk with her companion. It was her confidant. Then she would return to the castle.

The attacks on the kingdom weren't as constant because they were now attacking the packs.

"Hi, Gianna, where have you been? I haven't seen you. I was in my piano lessons," Dayana said when she saw her enter.

"I was out walking, Dayana. Where are the others?" she asked.

"Mom and Dad are out of the kingdom. They must be finalizing the details for Marcus' coronation. Marlon is with Dario. I haven't seen Marcus today, and Maximo is looking for you," she said without stopping and then breathed dramatically.

"Yes, and you don't know what he wants?" she asked.

"I just know he told me that when you arrived, I should let you know he was looking for you. I think he's in the garden," said Dayana.

"I'll go right now." She said it and went out to the garden, where she found Maximo sitting.

"Hello, young Maximo, you were looking for me?" Gianna asked as she approached.

"Yes, Gianna, and call me Maximo if you want. I called you because I know you like to train and since the academy is closed now, I want to help you, if you'd like." She agreed.

"Of course, young… Sorry, Maximo," she said enthusiastically.

"Let's go somewhere, follow me." He said and walked with her behind the castle. Then they entered a large place and found some stairs leading down. They followed them and arrived at a huge gymnasium, so to speak. It was truly gigantic. It had bars, weights, special machines, and weapons for fighting.

"Look, here I'm going to teach you how to kill vampires, wolves, elves, fairies, and any creature. Each one has its weakness, its weak points," he began.

"Silver kills wolves, you already know that. Vampires, with a stake to the heart or also by tearing off their head, or with fire," he continued.

"Demons are more difficult. They are killed with angel blood. The weapon to be used is bathed in it, but well, their blood is needed, and although sometimes the ones we have here donate it, it weakens them, so pure aura is needed.

Witches and wizards are killed with normal weapons. The difficult thing is getting to them because of their spells," the man patiently explained the weaknesses of the different species.

They started fighting, and she was good, but he told her to use her speed to her advantage, since she wasn't stronger than a magical creature, but knowing how to strike, she could defeat anyone.

Sweat ran down Gianna's face until they both decided to stop and fell to the ground.

"Ah, I'm exhausted, although not more than you. Recover your strength, you did very well," he said.

"I'm glad you don't hate me anymore," Gianna said.

"I don't hate you, Gianna, it's just that this world is not for someone as sweet as you," He looked at her.

"I'm not sweet, Maximo, I'm not, and I don't want to be. I'm a warrior, that's all," she said.

"I just want to help you. I want you to be strong and leave your past behind, but you have to talk about it." She looked at him.

"Maximo, I appreciate and respect you very much, but I don't want to talk to you about this. I don't want to, it's no use." He touched her hand and squeezed it.

"I just want you to be happy and calm. I've never seen your smile. Will I be able to see it someday?" he said, looking at her. They were both sitting on the floor, looking at each other, but the moment was interrupted by the presence of someone who entered the training room.

"Maximo, I've been looking for you for a while now. It's getting late," Marcus spoke, annoyed.

"We were training, and time flew by," Maximo said calmly.

"Go upstairs now. Nael and the others are looking for you," Marcus ordered, and Maximo left.

"Hello, Gianna, I see you love to practice. They saw you on the black dragon. It's a dangerous dragon; you know it eats people," Marcus said.

"I don't think Drago would hurt me, Your Majesty," she replied.

"I am Marcus. You trust him too much, and I… you don't like me, Gianna," he said, and she became nervous.

"Of course not, Marcus. It's just that you and Maximo are very serious, that's all," she said, somewhat uncomfortable.

"You can chat with me whenever you like. My parents have entrusted me with your care," he said.

"Thank you, Marcus," she said. Gianna's body felt different. Being close to Marcus made her nervous.

"Let's go upstairs. You should have dinner," Marcus said, looking at her cautiously.

"Okay, Marcus, let's go." They both walked out, she in front of him, up the stairs, and out of nervousness, she stumbled, falling on top of him.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yes, I'm sorry. I just tripped. Thank you so much." She said and hurried ahead out of embarrassment. This man made her act like an idiot.

She was nervous, and she didn't know why.

Gianna went into her room and, after taking off her clothes, got into the bathtub. She thought about the sensations this man caused in her, but she couldn't waste time and become a doormat. She couldn't trust again. She had to be strong to go after her grandparents.

When she was ready, she went down to dinner, and the five brothers were already at the table.

"There's a party tomorrow, Gianna. Are you up for it? You're 19 years old, you should have fun," Dario said.

"I'm 18, Dario, and well, yeah, I've never been to one, but I'll go," she replied.

"Perfect, Dayana and Marlon are coming too," Dario said excitedly.

"That's not a good idea," Marcus said.

"I second that. She's not used to it; she shouldn't go," Maximo supported.

"Don't be party poopers, come on, you all seem to like them." Dario insisted, and so they agreed to go to the party.
