Gianna stood by the lake, furious. A strange vibe emanated from her; no, the white healing aura was now black and dark.
The young woman felt that dark energy, and memories of rejection, humiliation, Jackson's lies, the wedding she hated so much, and the dragon's refusal flooded her mind. The restrictions imposed on her angered her.
The water began to move, and a whirlpool started to form; her rage intensified as she focused on a fixed point, and it was then that she exploded. A surge of energy erupted from her, destroying a rock. She was astonished, and then everything stopped. She realized what had happened and shook her head.
"What is this? A good, sweet aura that heals when I'm kind, and now, when I have no kindness, I cause destruction?” she said to herself.
She kicked the water and breathed deeply, still trying to calm down.
A heavy snort sounded behind her, and she turned to see the great black beast. It was enormous; its eyes were golden, and everything else was black.
“Well… I guess I should leave too”, she said, annoyed, and the animal snorted.
"Don't you snort at me, okay? I'm not in the mood.”
The great beast approached, blowing smoke, and entered the lake. The water began to rise around her as she walked.
"Go away… Shu… Go… Okay, I'll go then.”
She tried to leave, but he stopped her with his long tail; it was an immense animal. If the lake weren't so big, he wouldn't fit.
“What's wrong with you, crazy dragon? I bet your owner is Marcus; you're just as crazy as he is. You're both bipolar, big, and strong… And… yeah, let me go,” she said, not knowing what to say.
The dragon tilted his head as if trying to understand her, or perhaps he thought she was crazy.
"Perfect, since you don't want me to ride those dragons… you'll let me ride you.” she asked, and the dragon moved his head, snorting.
“No.”
“Then let me go. I'm not interested in riding them then,” Gianna said, crossing her arms.
The dragon lowered his neck to Gianna’s height; she looked tiny in front of such a beast, and he snorted, releasing enough smoke to choke her.
Gianna started coughing, waving her hands to clear the smoke. She coughed again and again and crossed her arms again, annoyed.
She could have sworn the dragon was laughing, as it had little spasms as it puffed out a little smoke.
“You're an ugly reptile, and it doesn't matter if you don't let me ride you… You're a salamander,” she said and walked further into the lake, but a voice at the top of the waterfall startled her.
“I finally have you in front of me, little wolf,” said the vampire from before, and she just looked at him. He was handsome, tall, strongly built, with longish brown hair tied back in a ponytail, large, blue-gray eyes. After studying him, she spoke.
"Oh, yes… And why were you looking for me so much?” she said haughtily; on her back was her bow, ready. She had daggers and stakes, as well as her bombs.
“I was looking for you because I saw you a while ago, and you seemed like a beauty to me,” he said, and she smiled.
“I am a beauty, but not yours; this is not your territory; you better leave,” said Gianna.
“I'm not doing anything wrong; up here above this waterfall is neutral territory unless you want to sit down with me,” he said, smiling roguishly.
As she was about to answer, the dragon's roar was heard. Gianna turned to look at him, and the dragon gestured for her to get behind him.
“Calm down, nothing's going to happen, he's up there,” she said, and the dragon snorted again; they looked like a couple arguing.
“Hey, beautiful, you don't know how much I want to taste your sweet neck and other parts of your body too,” he said, and the dragon spewed fire without reaching him since he was not breaking the boundaries.
“No, I like my blood in my body, but you flatter me. Besides, I'm a wolf; we eat vampire hearts for dessert,” she said, and the vampire winked at her.
“You're single, you were rejected; yeah, I did my homework; besides, you without a partner, me looking for a queen, you're perfect.”
The dragon crouched down for her to climb on, and Gianna hesitated; then the dragon snorted.
“What's wrong?” she asked the dragon, and he came closer again, lowering his body; then she went and climbed on top of him. Normally they had a kind of saddle with ropes to hold on to, but he didn't, as he wasn't ridden by anyone.
When she climbed onto his back, the dragon took off quickly and climbed as high as he could. She held on to his scales; they had already taught her to do it in case she lost the saddle.
The vampire left, annoyed, and the dragon climbed higher and higher, spinning.
"Wow, how beautiful everything is,” she said in awe; the dragon moved in a zigzag and suddenly descended. He wanted to scare her, but it was as if she had been born for this.
He tried to make her fall, and in fact, he did it from the highest point, but she didn't scream or call out; she knew he wouldn't let her fall. Everyone saw her falling and was scared. The red dragon, a gray one, a brown one, and the one she had saved took off, but she didn't scream, she just fell with her arms open, then, as she suspected, he picked her up again, and she settled on top of him.
“You're not going to scare me, little salamander,” she said, and he began to fly over various places.
She opened her arms and felt the wind. As the dragon flew close to the water, she could feel the drops. It was wonderful to be up high.
After a while, the beast descended into the forest.
"Wow, that was amazing,” she said, laughing. Yes, for the first time since the wedding, she was smiling again. The dragon looked at her intently, and she asked him, confused, “What's wrong, salamander? Why are you looking at me like that?”
The dragon roared.
“What? I don't understand you, I don't speak Dragon,” she said, laughing.
“Have you thought about going to therapy, seriously? You have two personalities: one is this, the cool dragon, and the other is Marcus’ personality,” she said, and he snorted.
“Yeah, yeah, I know he's the future king, but he's not going to find out I said that; you guys don't talk, right?” she said, her eyes widening.
“No, I think my grandfather would have told me, well, don't tell him anyway, okay? You're beautiful, you know, even if you look like a reptile and a bunch of other animals, but you're awesome,” she said and hugged him. He lowered his head for her to do so.
A while later, she came riding the black dragon like a true rider. Everyone was surprised; that dragon didn't use a rider and was the largest of them all, the most dangerous and the leader, so the others trembled.
