Dayana returns to the castle with Gianna and her brother Marcus. Maximo wanted to leave, but he had to continue with his training.
As she walked, a red dragon was seen in the sky, not as big as the black one, but just as majestic. Her eyes were lost in it; she loved those creatures.
"You like dragons, right? I've seen you watching them," Dayana says excitedly.
"Yes... They're just beautiful, interesting creatures." Dayana smiles and tells her.
"Maybe if you manage to ride one, the best warriors do it; you'd like that," the young girl asks.
"Yes, I would love to ride one of those dragons," Gianna said confidently.
"That's not a game, it's one thing to shoot arrows and fight with swords, it's quite another to be a rider," Marcus said.
"I know I can do it, Prince, besides, I got here on one." She speaks and Dayana giggles at Marcus; Gianna is no longer intimidated.
"You traveled unconscious on a dragon; I can't imagine how difficult it was for him to keep you safe, although if you fell it wouldn't have mattered to you, since you threw yourself off," Marcus said arrogantly.
"You're right, that's why I'll be an excellent rider; it won't matter if I fall or not; just protect the kingdom... Your Majesty." She said and Dayana couldn't hold back her laughter any longer.
"That's one of the reasons why you won't be able to ride... And if you ever do, I will decide which one you ride." He said and she preferred to drop the subject.
"Whatever you say, Your Majesty." The irony in her voice was palpable; that girl who once allowed abuse was gone; here she was not being played by her rank; here she would prove her worth.
"So... Who's that vampire from a while ago? This is the second time I've seen him, well, the third," Gianna asked; Dayana was about to answer, but Marcus spoke first.
"Why so much interest, he's a disgusting bloodsucker who saw his next dinner in you, and like it's the third time you've seen him," said the Crown Prince.
"First, in a battle, he stares at me, but a dragon rams him; I think that's the one that brought me here, I'm not sure," she says.
"I also saw him in my dreams, I was in the snow and he appeared stretching his hand towards me, but they pulled me and I woke up," Gianna said again.
"Mmm, from what I see you have a boyfriend, a vampire and he's very handsome, huh." Dayana nudged Gianna with her elbow as she smiled mischievously.
"Dayana, enough, that idiot is repulsive and Gianna is now my responsibility for being from my kingdom," he said, and Dayana held up her hands with an innocent smile on her face.
"Finally there will be interesting things in this kingdom," Dayana hummed.
"Are you kidding? They have elves, sorcerers, wizards, fantastic warriors, and amazing dragons, what more could you ask for?" Gianna said.
"Now we have a wolf warrior, you see it's getting better; also a dangerous and sexy vampire on the loose, and half the army ate you with their eyes," Dayana said; that made Marcus roll his eyes.
"Well, the wolf thing is only relatively speaking, I don't know if she'll survive, although I want her to," she said a little sadly, Gianna.
"She's going to be fine, you'll see, when she wakes up I'll be able to meet her," Dayana says, and Gianna nods.
"Okay, Dayana, thanks for everything, but I still think it's best to live at the academy."
"Don't even... How do you intend to live there? You would be the only woman; you will live in the castle and I don't want to hear any more." He spoke as if annoyed. Gianna saw him as strange: he was grumpier than they had said.
"Okay, Prince Marcus," Gianna said resignedly. That day when they got home, Dayana took Gianna to the room and together with the queen they chose a lot of clothes for her from several designers who came to the kingdom.
"This is not my style, I'm more of a sweater and baggy pants person," she said, causing Dayana and the queen to shake their heads.
"No way, such a beautiful young lady should show her beauty with appropriate clothes; you can choose some for training but with style," she said, and her daughter supported her.
That day, only casual dresses, skirts and pretty blouses were left. The few pants and tops with jackets were for training; above all, she had to maintain her style; she was one more of the king's daughters.
At night, dinner was exquisite; at the table they talked about each other's day and Marlon along with Dario promised to help Gianna in her practice.
"Don't worry Gianna; from tomorrow you will practice knife throwing and combat with me," Marlon said.
"I can teach you archery and crossbow too," Dario said.
"Well, I'll teach you fashion because you already have the looks," Dayana smiled.
"All I ask is seriousness in training. This is no place for Gianna..." Maximo commented.
"I support Maximo, Father, you know who we are up against," Marcus said...
"But they told me that she is excellent and we are going to support her, she is family, thank you daughter for staying here." Gianna nodded.
"Thank you, I just want to protect the kingdom," Gianna said.
From the next day they only trained Gianna; every day she improved more. They began to teach her to shoot with bows and special arrows to kill vampires and other creatures; the swords were heavier, but she was overcoming each test.
The battles were more often and sometimes she did not see Maximo, Marcus and Marlon. Only Dario was in charge of the practices.
The young woman trained more and more, and the vampire had been seen prowling the skies of the kingdom, and this had the troops on alert.
The relationship with the king's sons was good, at least with Dayana, Marlon and Dario, as the other two always lived as if annoyed and questioned everything Dayana did.
And so the months go by, the training has become stronger and today it is Gianna's turn to fight with Maximo.
"Hello, Prince Maximo, I'm ready to begin." Maximo looks at her, black flexible pants, black top with a jacket and some ankle boots; the jacket falls and he can't concentrate.
"Go to the center now," he says and she does.
"As always, you must not be distracted, you must be alert, different creatures are dangerous," he says and she nods, but he attacks; Gianna leans back and kicks his feet to make him fall, but she jumps.
The man attacks her with successive blows, which she dodges, but the young woman jumps and hits him in the chest with a kick; the man gets upset and grabs her by the waist and throws her to the ground, but she gets up quickly and climbs on his neck. He gets up and she falls, but then she runs and pushes him, making him fall and gets on top of him; there the battle ends and she gets up and gives him her hand.
Maximo takes it, looking at her with an uncertain look and the two are staring at each other when Marcus arrives and interrupts.
"I love training," he snaps, but Maximo speaks.
"We're done."
"I know, walk Gianna, let's go to the woods, there are more things you need to know." Marcus says and walks away with Gianna behind him.
