Episode 3

The days went by, and as usual, harassment was part of Gianna's life. More encounters with her crush had taken place, as she went very often to watch the training sessions.

As soon as Gianna saw him, she would leave the line and walk to the other field, at least until the alpha left.

The young woman began to walk and looked up at the sky; in the distance, several dragons flew across the sky. It was certain that some confrontation was happening again; now she understood the constant presence of the alpha.

Impacted, the young woman watched the spectacle in the sky. They were dangerous beasts, and they were the property of the Fire Kingdom. The ruler there was highly respected and feared. His dragons were trained and obeyed their regents very well; sometimes she saw them with riders, other times they were alone.

Gianna imagined how much character that king and his warriors must have to be able to tame such enormous beasts.

While the young woman was lost watching the show, a voice interrupted her.

“Well, well, now you're slacking off.” Jackson, the alpha of the pack, said with disdain. He was handsome: black hair, green eyes, an intense gaze, thin lips, a light beard, and a strong body worthy of an alpha.

His mere presence made Gianna tremble. He was imposing and dominant.

“Alpha…this is a place far from the training grounds where you forbade me to be,” she said, earning a scornful look.

“Why do you even come to high school? Then comes college, and there it’s even more intense. You are an omega, just stay home and wait for someone to satisfy.” He said, breaking the young woman's heart.

“With all due respect, Alpha, being an omega does not prevent me from learning, unless it is a new law and I am not aware of it,” she replied. The king shook his head.

“The only reason I don’t kick you out of here is out of respect for my beta, who is your father and my friend, but don't push your luck,” he said, and she looked away.

“Those of your kind shouldn’t leave their homes. Or well, I think I'm going to consider creating schools just for you so you don't bother the others.” The rage in his eyes was great.

“If you think so, it must be right. Now I will take my leave so as not to disturb you, Your Highness,” she said, leaving the presence of the alpha king only to go cry. She spent the rest of the training session in the old shooting range; there she took out her rage by training.

When she left, it was time to leave, so after collecting her things, she went home. Gianna's life was the same every day, although now a new stalker had been added: the man she loved. Gianna got home and saw everyone moving. She only said a quick hello to her father and got out of his sight.

Mariana and Lucrecia were excited and were looking at dresses; Gianna just went to her room. Her grandparents came in a little later.

“My little one, how are you?” asked her grandfather.

“Sad, Grandpa. Every day I can bear the insults less.” Her grandfather hugged her and stroked her head.

“Don't worry, little sparkle, one day it will stop,” he said, and she sighed resignedly; that would never happen. Her grandmother handed her a cake and said:

“Look, you thought no one would remember, but we do,” she said with a smile.

“Thanks, Grandma… I thought no one had remembered, although my father surely does, and today he hates me more, that’s why I said hello to him quickly,” she said sadly.

“Don't let them ruin your day. Today is a great day; 18 years ago, the most beautiful baby in the whole world was born,” her grandfather said with a smile.

“Congratulations, little sparkle, today you will become a beautiful wolf, I know it, I can feel it,” said her grandmother.

“That’s right; that’s why there is so much fuss in the house, a party for me,” she said, and her grandmother laughed and shook her head.

“No, honey, tomorrow there’s a party at the Alpha’s house, and everyone in this house must go,” she said, and Gianna refused.

“He hates me, I won’t go,” she said, but her grandfather bit her sweetly. “You have to, little one, it's important for the pack, and the beta's family must be present.”

She nodded and blew out the candles with her grandparents. “Make a wish, beautiful,” said her grandmother, and she closed her eyes. I wish I could be happy someday, she thought, and blew out the candles.

The cake was delicious; they spent a very quiet afternoon. Gianna finally smiled warmly for the first time in a long time. The young woman said goodbye to her grandparents and went to bed.

She looked at the bag of clothes her grandmother had prepared for her to change into and sighed. Today she would meet her wolf, but she was scared; now others would have power over her, and that scared her. The cold night blew wind, and it seeped through her window.

She looked at the sky, and there was the moon shining as always. She looked at her watch, and it was 11:30 p.m.; in half an hour, the change would take place. Other wolves had big parties that ended with the birthday boy disappearing in the middle of the night, but she wouldn't have that.

Her sister's party was majestic; she still remembers it. Her sister’s wolf is brown, and her eyes are honey-colored; she is beautiful. Her father and stepmother waited for Mariana with a change of clothes and hugged her in the middle of the transformation. They gave her words of encouragement, but there would be none of that for her.

She was born different from the rest, and that is often a problem; differences make others criticize you, point you out and even alienate you; they discriminate against you for things that don't depend on you. Gianna took her bag and went out into the woods.

She went deeper and deeper and looked at the moon; it was beautiful. She closed her eyes and imagined her mother looking at her, with a proud smile and eager to hug her and tell her that everything would be alright.

An intense pain ran through her body; she felt every bone in her skin break; the pain was very intense; she fell to the ground with a scream of pain. Her body was burning and shaking, and she tried to scream again, but instead of a scream, a howl came out.

She looked down and had legs covered in white fur. When she thought about speaking, a voice flooded her mind; she was both surprised and excited; it was her wolf. “Hello, Gianna, I’m your wolf, my name is Xena, and we are beautiful,” she said, and she ran towards a lake. She approached the water, and after drinking, she saw herself in the reflection.

Beautiful was not exactly what she was; the wolf in the reflection was majestic: immaculate white fur and golden eyes that looked like fire.

Xena.

The wolf ran a lot that night and talked about many things with her human. She would not be alone anymore; now they had each other.

At the end of the tour, she returned to her human form, took the backpack with her clothes, and after changing, she returned to her room, but someone saw her return and knew why.

Mariana, tomorrow she would invent something else about her because she was sure that Gianna would meet her mate, and Mariana did not want to see her calm and in love before she did.
