After a long flight they had finally returned to the castle, and it was already quite late. Rina watches from the window as Frederick and Beryl return, so she closes her curtains. She can now sleep more peacefully knowing that both of them have returned. Beryl gets off and after Frederick has taken his human form, he returns the sword.
"Keep it safe, I like you and I don't want them to use it against you," the omega mentions.
"How kind. Come on, go to sleep," he orders him.
Beryl doesn't refuse, as he is tired. It was a long trip, but they got the sword without a hitch. Though he's still worried about what those fake heroes might do, he needs a way to end this ugly tradition of sacrifices. But it's difficult, because apparently, those in the temple are just looking for excuses to sacrifice someone. So if Frederick refuses to ask for sacrifices and even protects them from the demons, the temple will find an excuse to continue their absurd tradition.
Frederick, upon reaching his room, lays the sword on his table, observing it. There was no doubt, it is as the omega has said, it has been made with the core of a powerful dragon, making it a weapon capable of piercing his skin, so it is a danger if any human has it in their possession. And if the Prince of Drinel is looking for it, it's because they intend to attack him.
[Jack, I need you to send someone to investigate the King of Drigel and the Prince.] He speaks telepathically.
"Understood, Your Majesty. I'll send the spies first thing in the morning." Jack mentions, who is still in his room, awake.
After this, Frederick recites a kind of incantation, creating a seal under the sword and after a light shines, when it fades, the sword has disappeared.

The next morning, Frederick looks for Beryl, so Rina tells him that the boy is in the greenhouse, though she looks a little nervous and Frederick soon realizes why. Upon entering, he sees Beryl lying on a sofa, surrounded by maids attending to him and even eating grapes. He was so comfortable, as if he were the lord of the castle.
"Good morning, Mr. Kidnapper, welcome to my humble greenhouse," Beryl speaks.
"What do you think you're doing?" he motions for the maids to leave. "I said you can stay, but take over the castle..."
"I don't think I'm the owner, they just treat me like the special guest. Look, they even braided my hair," he shows off his hairstyle.
Frederick raises an eyebrow as he observes the omega. He was apparently still in his pajamas, quite brazen, showing off too much and who knows where he got those jewels from. He lets out a heavy sigh.
"What else do you know besides the fact that the prince was looking for the sword?" he asks bluntly.
"That they want to use that sword to eliminate you and use your core to create a barrier that protects the kingdom from demons," he replies.
What he's saying is not a lie, though.
"The prince's lover wants to use the excuse of getting revenge on you for killing her beloved brother, that is, me, when in reality she was never interested in protecting me when her parents mistreated me," he explains.
"And what do you think would happen if you got back to the kingdom alive?"
"They will want to sacrifice a woman, because the dragon might get angry because he didn't like the omega they sent. You know, crazy people make up anything," he shrugs.
"And if I appear before them, with you by my side, what do you think they could do?"
"You can say that you don't want sacrifices anymore, but you will continue to protect the kingdom, although that will not prevent the temple from manipulating everyone and saying that they need sacrifices for another deity."
"You're right, those people are just looking for a way to justify their slaughter. But, I'm sick of their stupid ideas," he purses his lips.
"I have an idea, you say the spell I used on the demons before is exclusive to dragons. What do you think those people will think if they see me using it? Maybe they can use that power to their advantage?"
"They will want to use you to protect them and they will think that they will no longer need my protection, at least that is a possibility, but they will not care if it depletes your mana." At the end of the day, those people only think about their own well-being no matter who they have to sacrifice.
"True, but, I think we can do something, use my power to our advantage and also to overthrow that hateful temple. I want them to lose prestige," Beryl assures.
"If you have an idea, I'm listening. If it's good enough, we can use it. As long as it avoids unnecessary deaths."
"Well, but first I need to practice magic a bit, you know, that dragon-exclusive spell," Beryl requests.
"Okay, I'll help you with that, as long as your idea works."
Beryl smiles, his idea is simple. The dragon will return him to the kingdom of Drinel, where Beryl will present himself as the goddess' envoy to protect the kingdom, as long as they don't trust those who only sacrifice humans for their own benefit. Well, now, he, as the chosen one, will be the one who provides mana to the dragon to protect them from the demons, but, if the temple sacrifices a single more person, the wrath of the goddess will fall on the kingdom, so the dragon, will abandon them and no one will come to their salvation, because the temple is full of false prophets, and that, has the goddess angry.
"That's why she sent me, to save them from those fakes," he laughs with his hands up.
Frederick just shakes his head as he lets out a heavy sigh. His idea is the craziest he's ever heard, but as absurd as it sounds, it might be the best option against those fake priests. Frederick agrees to go along with his plan, but first he must learn to use that split spell, it may serve to make everything more believable.
