As soon as Frederick entered the room, Beryl clung to him, even wrapping his legs around Frederick's waist.
"I never thought I’d say this, but it’s so nice to see you, Mr. Kidnapper." He gives him a kiss on the cheek.
Frederick froze at this, and even Angela and Rina were stunned by what had happened. Frederick reacted, pushing the omega away to place him back on the bed, feeling somewhat embarrassed by what had just occurred.
"You know what, I’d rather stay in that cell eating stale oatmeal. I’m not going back to the forest." He sat down, hugging the pillow.
"I see you’ve realized I wasn’t joking when I said the forest is dangerous." He teased."The demons are always lurking."
"Forget about the demons; a dodo almost ate me. Look at my little hand." He showed the red stripes marking his wrist.
"Dodo? What’s that?" Frederick asked, confused.
"He’s referring to a carnivorous bird." One of the guards accompanying Frederick replied."Small; it's good to see you awake."
"Oh! Hi, Jack. I hope the others are okay."
"They are, little one. I’ll let them know you’re awake." Jack said excitedly.
Jack left, along with Rina and Angela, leaving Frederick sitting on the edge of the bed holding the omega's hand, examining the red stripes on his wrist, surprised that the bird hadn’t bitten his hand off when it snapped its beak. Frederick placed his hand over the wound, muttering a spell, and the stripes disappeared.
"The knights say you did magic, one that frightened and killed the demons." Frederick mentioned.
"Yes, something like that, but then I fainted. Was it because of the magic? Does one faint after using it?" Beryl asked.
"No, but your body isn’t used to it; it was a heavy burden for you. But it’s a matter of getting accustomed to it." He explained.
"How complicated. Now I won’t be able to conquer empires." Beryl puffed his cheeks.
"Conquer empires? That's the craziest idea you’ve said so far." Frederick smiled slightly.
The omega was definitely someone amusing; he couldn’t understand where he got such ideas from or worse, did he really think they were good ideas? Conquering empires was not something one could accomplish alone; even he, being a dragon, could never manage it.
"Don’t mock me; I could achieve it. You never know. But if I can’t leave the forest, how will I do it?" He fell silent for a moment, lost in his thoughts.
"Better rest and forget those ideas."
Frederick stood up, calling Rina to check on the omega, and asked Angela to bring him a soup made with the sacred tree roots, as it would help the omega regain the energy he had lost using magic.

In his office, Frederick looked at the drawing Jack had made; it was what he remembered of the seal Beryl had created while attacking the demons. Frederick traced his finger over the drawing.
"A sacred spell. How could he have learned it? Or who taught him?" He wondered.
"He’s been reading magic books from the library, but still…that magic…" Jack said, concerned.
"No one else can use it...unless they are a dragon..." Frederick spoke.
That spell was one that only dragons could perform; it was a sacred spell created by their ancestors to fight the demons. However, no matter how hard humans tried to learn it, their mana wasn’t suitable for it. The most powerful mages would turn to dragons to ask them to teach that spell. The dragons would agree, but it was impossible for them to invoke such a powerful spell. Because of that, the mages began to claim that the dragons taught them a different incantation, fearing that if they learned it, humans would no longer need dragons for their protection.
In response, they stole the Dragon King's book, where the spells created by the dragons were written. Nevertheless, the wizards could do nothing, and the dragons decided to abandon the humans due to their audacity in stealing from the Dragon King. This led them to think that humans were untrustworthy and not worthy of their protection. Thus, dragons ceased to be seen in the world, except for a few who lived in isolation, like Frederick.
For Frederick, it was strange that a human had managed to cast that spell, but it would explain why his energy was depleted and he ended up unconscious.
"Jack, find out about the omega's mother's family; there must be something in him that allows him to use that spell."
Jack nodded and left to carry out the dragon's order. Frederick remained deep in thought; perhaps the omega was a mix of dragon and human. He had heard tales of dragons mating with humans—maybe his mother was a female dragon, or perhaps his mother's ancestor was one. That could be why he was capable of using that spell; it was the only explanation he could come up with—that the blood of a dragon ran through the veins of that diminutive omega.
