A new day had arrived. Beryl received his breakfast in his room, brought by Angela. However, he still didn't want to leave. He had a decision to make. It was true that being an omega outside held more dangers, but staying meant becoming another servant and enduring the self-proclaimed wife of the dragon. At least, they hadn't given him a deadline for his decision, so he could take his time. His plan was to stay alive, and being a weak omega, it would be difficult to achieve that if he left the castle.
Upon leaving for a walk, he decided to look for the castle guards. He had noticed their presence, and they must know how to fight, so he hoped they could provide him with some help. But just as he was turning a corner in a hallway, he encountered that woman named Vania. Upon seeing him, she made a disgusted face and covered her nose and mouth with a handkerchief she was carrying.
"I don't understand how my husband still allows a filthy omega to stay in our home," she expressed, annoyed.
Beryl crossed his arms, observing the woman. He was bothered by the way she spoke about him and her air of superiority. So, he smiled and lifted his chin with an arrogant expression.
"Be careful what you say. Your husband might just throw you out into the streets. After all, a twenty-year-old beauty is better than one who's already wrinkling," he retorted mockingly.
"You don't speak to me like that! I am the lady of this castle, so show some respect, omega, or I will send you to be food for the demons," she responded furiously.
"You? You better watch out; maybe you're the demon food," he said, approaching the woman and grabbing both her hands.
Vania was surprised by this, but she saw the boy forcing her hands onto her own head.
"No! Don't touch me, please... I'll leave, but please don't hurt me... Madam, please... Forgive this dirty omega, I won't go near your husband," she screamed and sobbed, falling to the floor.
Vania was taken aback by the omega's behavior.
"Miss Vania, what do you think you're doing?" a masculine voice boomed in the hallway.
Upon turning around, Vania met Frederick's angry gaze. She was speechless, but before she could defend herself, Beryl crawled towards him and bowed his head.
"Please, forgive this filthy omega. I won't approach you so your wife doesn't get angry," he sobbed.
"Screw you, bitch," he smiled maliciously, hiding his face.
"Miss Vania, why does this omega think you're my wife? And why did you assault him?" Frederick questioned.
A chill ran down Vania's spine at the dragon's cold gaze.
"I... I swear I didn't hit him. I never said I was your wife," she responded nervously.
"You didn't hit him? And what was I witnessing? Rina, you saw it too, right?" Frederick asked.
Rina, who was standing behind Frederick, sighed and looked sternly at Vania.
"Indeed, Your Highness. Miss Vania was pulling your guest's hair, and this is not the first time she has insinuated that she's your wife, acting aggressively towards the servants," Rina replied.
"That's a lie, Rina! You can't falsely accuse me," she said, kneeling. "Please, Your Majesty, believe me."
"Enough!" Frederick said, taking Beryl by the arm and helping him up. "Miss Vania, you can't deny what you did any longer. It's best if you pack your bags; you're leaving this castle."
Beryl stood up but covered his face as he sobbed. Frederick gently placed his hand on the small omega's head, which only served to further anger Vania.
"This isn't fair, Your Majesty! I've never had any problems until now, but as soon as you brought this filthy omega, I'm being falsely accused and thrown out of the palace. Is that dirty omega worth more than me?" Vania exclaimed furiously.
"Enough! This isn't about who's worth more than whom. Omega or not, he's still a person. And I've tolerated enough of your superiority complex. Get out. Rina, you know what to do," Frederick ordered.
"Of course, Your Majesty. Vania, follow me. You need to pack," Rina commanded.
"No! I won't go! You can't kick me out! Your Majesty, I've been your wife for ten years, it's not fair!" she pleaded, clinging to his arm.
"You're not my wife. I saved you, that's all. But I've had enough," Frederick replied, already frustrated with the girl.
Rina called for other maids to take Vania away, and she followed behind them. Beryl, for his part, wiped his face with his sleeve and fixed his hair.
"I must admit, you're a good actor, little omega," Frederick observed.
"She deserved it. I'm tired of people who think they're superior. Besides, I didn't do anything to her, and she turned on me," Beryl complained.
There were no traces of tears left in his eyes, and he stood there calmly, even though Frederick had seen through his act. To the dragon, this omega was quite intriguing.
"Where were you going? This area isn't suitable for you; knights are often passing through here."
"I was actually going to see the knights. I've been reading about mana, but I haven't been able to do anything yet. So, I thought the knights could give me sword fighting and combat lessons," he answered excitedly.
"Why would you want to learn all that? Are you planning on leaving?"
"I haven't decided yet. It's difficult because leaving would be dangerous, and staying would only mean working. I'm not meant to work; I'm meant to live like a king," he declared.
"Is that so? What makes you think you deserve that kind of life?" Frederick asked curiously.
"I'm beautiful. Look at me! A handsome face with a pair of feline eyes, a small waist, and a rear end anyone would envy. I deserve to live like a king," he said, admiring himself.
"You certainly have a pleasant face," Frederick said, lifting the omega's chin with his finger. "But you're a commoner. A noble wouldn't marry you, let alone a king," he teased.
Beryl slapped his hand away. "You think so? If I set my mind to it, even you'd be begging me to be your wife," he said with a wink.
"Or maybe you'll be the one begging me, little pink rat," Frederick replied with a mocking smile. "Better make up your mind soon."
Frederick stepped away from the little omega and left, while Beryl was determined to get the knights to train him.
