...****************...

Nana had already dressed up beautifully even though she was only going to deliver lunch to her father at the oil palm plantation. Actually, it wasn’t because her makeup was excessive or flashy. Basically, she was already very beautiful. This twenty-four-year-old girl was often called an old maid because she was picky when being proposed to. In fact, those who proposed were not just anybody. They could all be considered very wealthy because they had houses and cars, but Nana seemed to enjoy this popularity.

Many praised her beauty and were very amazed by her face, making Nana arrogant. If she got married, this fame would automatically disappear, and the title of the village’s flower would fall into the hands of another girl. Nana couldn’t accept that. For seven years, the title of the village’s flower had remained in her grasp, as no other girl could match Nana’s beauty. Even Nani wasn’t as pretty as her sister. Sometimes that was what caused them to disagree, because Nana often mocked her own sister because Nani’s skin was darker than Nana’s, who was indeed perfect in every way.

She had a high, sharp nose and red lips without lipstick. Her skin was as white as peeled cassava. Her sharp gaze seemed to seduce the opposite sex. Her long, flowing hair was beautifully black. Her body proportions were also very supportive; slim waist, and a nice chest. Like a walking Spanish guitar, especially when Nana wore a short span skirt that showed off her smooth white calves. The eyes of men would definitely be on her. They could only swallow their saliva without being able to have her. Mr. Irwin had prepared his men who always guarded Nana when she was outside, because of the many incidents of village flowers being raped. This made Mr. Irwin wary in advance, he didn’t want his daughter to suffer the same fate.

"Masha Allah, she's so beautiful. If only my wife was as beautiful as her," whispered the oil palm workers.

"If you want a beautiful wife, don't just work as an oil palm laborer, mister!" replied the wives who were working on the palm fruit stripping.

Suddenly the men were silent and went back to glancing at Nana who was walking. From behind, her buttocks were very tempting to the eyes of men with wandering eyes. They swallowed their saliva because their hands were itchy to touch her. Nana approached her father's rather large hut when he was resting.

"I brought lunch, Dad," Nana greeted Mr. Irwin in a spoiled manner.

"Thank you, I happen to be hungry," said Mr. Irwin, who was often here to monitor the workers.

"Eh, but this is not free, you know," Nana smiled slyly.

Mr. Irwin knew what his daughter wanted, so he opened his cellphone and sent money to Nana's account. This girl cheered because she had received money from her father. This was the kind of life she liked, money. Even without a husband, she could have money, and also gain fame from men who were very impressed with her.

"This oil palm plantation is going to be mine, right, Dad?" Nana started the conversation.

"As long as you get married soon, this plantation will be yours," replied Mr. Irwin.

"Why do I have to get married? I feel like it would be better if I didn't get married," said Nana.

"Our age is increasing, Nana! Even if you don't get married, one day people won't be impressed by you anymore," said Mr. Irwin firmly.

"Says who? What if I stay beautiful even when I'm old? If I'm beautiful by nature, then I'll stay beautiful," Nana was very stubborn.

Mr. Irwin looked at his eldest daughter disapprovingly. He knew that Nana really liked the popularity of being the village’s flower. But one day it would all fade away, because there were still many girls below Nana who would grow up and maybe they would be even more beautiful.

"Look at Ahmad! He's engaged to Weni," Mr. Irwin mentioned the first man who proposed to Nana.

"Let him be, I don't care who he wants to marry! What’s more, someone like Weni, she's nowhere near me," Nana sneered.

"Watch your mouth, Nana! I never raised you to be arrogant. Just because a lot of people praise you, you get a big head and act up," Mr. Irwin snapped.

Nana was very upset because her father was scolding her, so she immediately left the place with deep annoyance. The important thing was that she had gotten money from her father, her plan to play with her friends could be carried out.

"Damn that old man! I don't want to get married, why is he making such a fuss," Nana cursed along the way.

"It's not nice to talk like that, Miss! He's still your father," Dani advised.

"Yeah, why did he bring up Ahmad's name? It's up to him whether he wants to get married or do a somersault," Nana said in annoyance.

Dani was the person who had been guarding Nana for a long time. Their relationship was quite close and Nana already considered Dani like her own brother, they were always together wherever they went because Dani's job was to look after Nana.
