Chapter 5

Zanilia phoned Zara and asked for her help in finding a husband for she had only three days.The pair met up in a cafe on a fifth avenue to discuss possible ideas of finding “ Mr. Right” in three days.  Zara thought of holding auditions for a male leader, while Zanilia thought of using popular dating sites to meet new people. Zanilia was determined to use that three days to the best of her ability.

Grandpa knew his granddaughter would cook up some crazy plans and hire people to sabotage every one of her grand schemes. Shawn was in on grandpa plans and went along with it. The two best friends decided not to hold auditions as this will bring in unnecessary attention so they went with the latter. Zara hired a few people to help her sign on to the popular sites and to screen the candidates while Zanilia went on blind dates. The girls were proud as their plans were set in  motion.

Day 1

Sitting in a restaurant on Pride street, Zanilia waited for blind date number 1 - his name was Evans and he was an engineer for the city. She wasn’t fond of blind dates but she thought “ anything to get rid of that bastard Shawn”. Evans arrived a few minutes late, when he sat down at the table, he spoke for three hours about all his twelve (12) ex-girlfriends and why they did not work out. Zanilia called Zara while angry “ cross Evans off the list” …….Next

Now sitting in spice inn cafe, waiting for blind date number 2 - Luke the artist

He arrived on time and they got off to a great start. Smiling from ear to ear Zanilia was making progress in finding a husband. Suddenly his phone ring, he answered immediately

“ Hi baby”  using his hands to block his mouth as he speaks.

Zanilia shocked at his remarks

“ I am at the supermarket getting groceries for you my love”......Luke said to the other person on the line.

“ I’ll be there shortly,” his last words were. ….as he got up to leave

“ I’m sorry…….. but my wife is in labor as we speak, thanks for the treat”....Luke ran off

Zanilia wanted to choke him to death, she couldn't believe this shameless man had a wife and still came on a blind date. Zanilia sent a message to Zara, “please don’t send me any more idiots”. She sighed!

Blind date number 3 John ask Zanilia to met him at Club Oasis

“ who the hell goes on blind date at the club”.......she said in her mind. Nevertheless she went, she could not derail her plans because of the venue.

Getting into the club\, she scooted over in a booth while she waited for him. A waiter came over and said “ Can i offer you a drink?”.......” no thanks” was her reply without lifting her head. She was busy scanning through the files of potential candidates. Tapping her on her hands\, John was standing there staring at her. Looking at him in his waiter uniform\, she could not believe her eyes. Apparently John lied on his profile that he was a dentist.  Throwing the drink at him\, Zanilia got off from the table and shouted “ f*uck you a**hole" and left.
