Chapter 4

Zanilia phoned Shawn and delivered Grandpa's message, she knew that the both had business deals together and it was no surprise that he would want to meet with him. Shawn arrived at the hospital and went to visit grandpa. He was happy to see him in one piece.

“ Have a seat son”........Shawn sat down and looked at his grandpa

“ Do you remember that promise you once made to me a few years ago”

“ Yes, sir”...Shawn nodded his head

“ Can i cash out that promise right now”

Shawn did not expect grandpa to ask him so soon .

“ son, I am not getting younger and the person that i am most worried about is my Zani”

“ I understand sir, but”……he paused

“ Don’t worry son, i’ll help you smooth things over with her”...grandpa said

He knew that his granddaughter was stubborn and would not agree easily so he had made some pre- arrangements before just in case things went sideways.

“ son, i just need to know that i can count on you to honor your promise”

“ grandpa, i stand by my promise, I will do whatever it takes to marry her”...Shawn said boldly

Luckily Shawn had discussed the marriage with his parents and they were in agreement with it. Zanilia was a sweet girl who they liked as their own daughter. Shawn left the room and headed back to work. After he left the room, grandpa made some calls to make arrangements for his granddaughter's engagement to Shawn Bentley. He was very pleased with the young man and besides he once saved his life a few years back.

Zanilia entered the room and sat besides her grandfather. She lay on the side of the bed and watched him. Grandpa touched her and said

“Zani, grandpa has something he will like to ask of you”

Lifting her head, she said “ sure grandpa..anything for you.

“ ANYTHING….now you can’t go back on your words”

I would like you to settle down and get married, you are already 24…...my child before I close my eyes, I will like to see you married and happy…….can you do that for your grandpa?

Zanilia paused and looked at her grandpa, she did not know how to say no to him. “Sure grandpa, I can try to do that”

“ also........... i have found a suitable candidate to give your hand in marriage too”...he later mentioned

Shocked at grandpa's words, she immediately asked who?

“ Shawn Bentley” ...he said

“ no way grandpa..........anybody but him”.....she got up from the bed.

“ Do you hate him that much sweedie?”...he asked her

“ YES grandpa, i hate him to my core”....Zanilia shouted with tears in her eyes

Grandpa knew that she hated Shawn but he never knew why or even this much.

“ Okay sweedie, how about grandpa make you a deal……...if you find a suitable husband in three days then you can married him…..if not, you have to accept my proposal and marry Shawn immediately”

 Zanilia thought of grandpa's deal and accepted, she did not care if she had to hire someone to marry her, she would not dear marry her sworn enemy Shawn Bentley.

Grandpa already had his plans in mind for her and knew that there was no escaping it.
