Ch 4 : How to be friends?

At Merceline's house. Her mom didn't talked with her after she got home. Her mom didn’t knew what to talk about. The only thing she could think was, "Your grades doesn't matter, your well being does and that's why I'm pushing you that hard to study...." Merceline was at her room, thinking about what just happened today. "I got beaten up yet I'm feeling happy. Is it because I got a friend, that's why? Or the fact that someone stood up for me? No one ever stood up for me before. And even though he is a junior, I gotta praise his confidence. He slapped Asteria. That... Was impressive. I could never do that. Even if I try, I'll fall more harder then before.. He said we are friends now.. But.. How to be friends?" While she was thinking about all that, her mom came in with dinner. She saw that and she was about to get up when her mom placed the food tray on bed side and helped her to sit. Then her mom sat down and started to feed her. It was silent. The whole room was so silent that anyone could hear what's going on outside. Merceline started to talk. ❝Mom, I'll start doing better, don't worry, I'll even bring good grades like before.❞ Her mom didn’t said anything, she was hurt that her daughter is injured that badly and she can't do anything. After feeding her, she left. She started to cry because she never thought Merceline would do something for a scholarship. But only if she knew the real reason why Merceline is hurt then maybe she wouldn’t have forgiven herself. She went to bed as well since there was nothing to do anymore. The next morning, at Rune's place. He woke up and freshen up. Then he went down, to the dining room, he saw that, the food (last nights dinner) was still out so he reheated the food again and ate some then he covered them and left a note for his mom, " I've heated this." Then he got ready and left. He went to Merceline's home. He rang the bell and her mom opened the door. He greeted her nicely and went inside. ❝Merceline is upstairs, the first room on your left.❞ ❝Thank you anuty.❞ Then he went to her room. He entered into room as the door was unlocked. It was dark so, he removed the curtains that was blocking the sun rays. Then, he saw that she was still sleeping, so, he decided to get something and read as she's asleep. He was looking through her books when he found a picture. It was a picture of her with someone, she was smiling so brightly that others would be jealous of that smile. He took a picture of that picture and placed it on the same place. He then took a book when Merceline asked, ❝Why are you here?❞ He replied, ❝Can’t I be here?❞ Merceline didn’t said anything. ❝So, you are awake.❞ ❝Yeah, you were walking around so loudly.❞ ❝Oh, I'm sorry about that.❞ ❝No problem and by 'why are you here?' I meant shouldn’t you be at school right now?❞ ❝ Technically, yes but I came to visit my friend, what's wrong with that?❞ ❝Nothings wrong with that.❞ ❝I brought you cake.❞ ❝I don't like cake.❞ ❝Ohh, my bad!❞ Rune took out the cake then sliced it and then, he started to feed her. ❝I don't care if you like it or not, I brought it so, you have to eat it!!❞ Merceline didn’t knew how to reply to this so, she just noded. ❝Give me your phone.❞ ❝Why?❞ Rune just stared at her like he own her now and she gave him the phone because he was staring right into her eyes, she didn't knew how to react at that. Rune took the phone and saved his number and tried to find Asteria's number, he found it as well, it was save in 'Miss bully' he then blocked her number. ❝If Asteria comes and bullies you, you will call me, I'll come no matter what class or what I'm doing, you will just call me, is that clear to you?❞ ❝Yes.❞ ❝Okay!! Good!!❞ Merceline was thinking about the girl, "Who was she? Which grade she reads in? She had a bright smile on her face! I loved her smile." While she was thinking about all that, her thoughts were interrupted by Rune. ❝I'll leave now.❞ Merceline noded and he left. On his way, he greeted her mother again and left the house. Rune was happy. Why was he happy? What was the reason behind him being happy? He was happy because she didn’t had a boyfriend and he went to tell Asher all about this. That he has fallen for the mysterious girl whom he bearly knew, but unfortunately, he was at school so Rune went home.
