Emily: OMG Mia, I still can't believe we're in the same class again this year! 🎉

Mia: I know, right? It's going to be the best year ever!

Emily: We can finally study together, and not just during lunch breaks.

Mia: And no more texting each other homework questions at midnight! 😂

Emily: Lol, true! Btw, look, we have visitors. Do you know any of them?

Mia: I think they’re here for the combined English lesson

.Emily: Wait, who's that guy? He looks kinda familiar... 🤔

Mia: You mean the one who just walked in? He’s kinda cute. 😏

Emily: Yeah, but it's weird. I feel like I’ve seen him before.

Mia: Maybe he's from another class? 🤷‍♀️

Emily: Could be. Anyway, what do you think of the new teacher?

Mia: She seems nice. Hopefully not too much homework though! 😅

Emily: Fingers crossed! 🤞

Teacher: Good morning, everyone. Let's get started with today's lesson.

Emily: [Texting Mia] This lesson is already boring. 😴

Mia: [Texting back] Totally. Wanna meet up after class?

Emily: [Texting] Sure! Let’s grab a coffee.Mia: [Texting] Sounds perfect! ☕️

Emily: [Texting] Btw, did you see how Jack looked at me? 😳

Jack glances over and sees Emily texting and smiling. He thinks to himself.

Jack: [Thinking] "She’s really cute when she’s smiling".

Teacher: "Jack, are you paying attention? Focus on the lesson!"

Panel 1: Scene: Jack is looking around the room, not paying attention to the lesson. The teacher notices.

Panel 2: Scene: Emily, startled, quickly hides her phone, thinking she might get caught. Jack sees her reaction and smiles to himself, unfazed by the teacher's scolding.

Jack: [Thinking] "She’s really cute when she’s startled."

The class is over, and students are packing up their things. Emily and Mia are chatting as they gather their books.

Emily: "I was so scared the teacher would catch me!"

Mia: "I saw you jump. But did you notice Jack? He didn't even seem to care that he got scolded.

Scene: Jack is walking out of the classroom with his friends, occasionally glancing back at Emily. He doesn't approach her but seems thoughtful.

Panel 5: Scene: Emily looks up and catches Jack glancing at her. She smiles slightly but doesn't say anything.

Emily: [Thinking] "Why does he keep looking at me?"

Scene: Mia smirks as she notices the exchange.

Mia: "He’s definitely interested, Em. You should talk to him."

Emily: "I don’t know... He seems really shy.

"Panel 7:

Scene: As they walk out of the classroom, Jack glances at Emily one last time before heading in the opposite direction with his friends.

Panel 8:

Scene: Emily and Mia walk down the hallway, continuing their conversation.

Mia: "Give him time. Maybe he’ll work up the courage to talk to you."

Emily: "Yeah, maybe. We'll see."
