Rocio was astonished by the beauty of the man in front of her. Damian was undoubtedly the most handsome man she had ever met in her life.
Damian had bronzed skin, black eyes, thin lips, and stood around 6'3"or 5'11". He had an athletic body and was dressed in black clothing, giving him a mysterious aura.
Ana, Damian's personal assistant, stood watching the young Montenegro help a stranger with great care.
The very same stranger whom, the night before, he had brought to the mansion without explaining anything to anyone, including his grandmother Camila.
“¡What are you doing just standing there?! Bring me the first aid kit.”
Ana was taken aback by Damian's request for the first aid kit.
Since his wife Josefina passed away, Damian had never cared for another woman.
To Ana, aside from Damian, the only person she had to obey was Grandmother Camila.
“¡Are you deaf?!”
Hearing Damian's second shout, Ana rushed into the bathroom. Meanwhile, Rocio held the young master of the Montenegro family’s hands back.
Damian lifted the girl's leg slightly, making Rocio feel very uncomfortable.
“I can do it myself.”
Rocio looked directly into Damian's eyes, something no other woman had done before.
There was something about Rocio that caught Damian’s attention. He couldn’t quite describe it, but ever since he saw Rocio, there was something in her that had enchanted him.
“You're too stubborn; that's bad coming from such a beautiful woman like you.”
“I'm not that type of girl. You can go buy one from a brothel.” Rocio tried to free her leg from Damian's grip.
Damian formed a faint line between his lips. The girl was a beautiful wildcat that he desired to tame.
“You should feel flattered that a man like me is tending to your wound personally,” Damian said, slightly annoyed with Rocio.
“What?”
“I don't know who you are... Why should I feel flattered?”
“You're too stubborn; any woman in your place would be happy to be touched by my hands.”
“I just want to know who you are. What am I doing here?”
Damian applied a bit of pressure to the girl's wound, preventing it from bleeding further.
“You were wandering the streets last night and crossed in front of my car. Then you collapsed onto the road.”
Rocio fell silent, recalling everything that had transpired. The cruel way Samuel had removed the mask that revealed his true face.
Once again, tears began to fall from the girl’s eyes. Seeing her like this, Damian released her wound and embraced Rocio.
The girl cried bitterly on Damian's torso. Witnessing this scene, Ana dropped the first aid kit to the floor, prompting Damian to pull away from Rocio.
“I'm sorry, I'm sorry, sir!”
Ana quickly apologized to Damian and bent down to pick up the first aid kit.
“Be more careful; you know I don’t like clumsy people.” Damian took the kit from Ana's hands and sat on the bed to tend to Rocio's wound.
“You can leave, Ana.” Damian ordered.
The woman cast a final glance at Rocio, exited Damian's room, and rushed to tell Camila what had happened.
Upon reaching the garden, where Camila was playing with a very beautiful girl named Bella, the daughter of Josefina.
“Good morning, Mrs. Montenegro.” Ana greeted the elderly woman, bowing before her, then glanced at Bella out of the corner of her eye.
“Salma, take Bella to get dessert.” Camila ordered the girl’s nanny.
Salma approached the small girl, who was 5 years old, took her hand, and led her away, leaving Camila alone with Ana.
“My lady, the young master is going to great lengths to attend to the filthy girl he brought last night.”
Camila said nothing, placing her hand on her chin. She narrowed her eyes.
“Contact Cesar; I want all the information about that girl by this afternoon. I don’t like that Damian is so concerned about a stranger.”
"Immediately, ma'am. What will happen if Miss Rubi comes to see the young master?"
"Nothing will happen if Rubi comes. She is just my goddaughter, one in Damian's list."
Ana did not seem satisfied with Camila's response; she hoped the elderly woman would take Rocio out of the mansion and side with Rubi.
Rubi was the one who truly suited Damian, a beautiful girl from an influential family that would further aid the Montenegro family.
"Ma'am, if I may offer my opinion. I would support Miss Rubi; she not only dislikes Bella but also loves the young master."
"Ana, go to the kitchen and prepare some tea. Take your place in this house." Camila made it clear to Ana that she was nobody to meddle in the Montenegro family's affairs.
"I'm sorry. I will prepare your tea right away." Ana, embarrassed, walked away from Camila.
The elderly woman grasped her cane and stood up. She walked across the lawn and entered the mansion.
She slowly climbed the stairs to Damian's room. Without knocking, Camila entered her grandson’s bedroom.
Damian was finishing bandaging the girl’s wound.
"You must be the girl who has stolen all of my grandson's attention." Camila approached the bed, observing Rocio more closely.
Rocio, embarrassed, lowered her gaze.
"Child, you are very beautiful; you should not feel ashamed." Camila added.
"Grandmother, let her rest." Damian was least interested in tormenting Rocio further.
Camila lowered her head slightly, noticing the glass of Josefina and Damian's photo.
"Call for the maid to clean the glass." Camila ordered Damian.
