Chapter 03

When he woke up, it was already dark outside. Boun took his phone from the bedside table to check the time. It was past six o'clock. There were several unread messages on the screen, including a caring message from his mother. Boun simply replied. He looked at the next message, which was the name and address of a restaurant sent by Tay. Boun then remembered that he had made an appointment with Tay to go drinking tonight, so he got up and changed his clothes.

The location was a restaurant that he often went to. In addition to Tay, there were also a few familiar friends eating together. Boun was fined two glasses of beer as soon as he arrived because he was late. Several people ate and talked. Boun was full and didn't feel like drinking, so he ran out of the restaurant door to get some fresh air. As soon as the cigarette in his hand was lit, he saw the little boy walking towards him from the restaurant door with a slight smile.

If Boun hadn't known that the previous few encounters were accidental and not intentional, the other party would have been handcuffed by him as a stalker now. Adhering to the principle of staying still and observing changes in hostility, Boun continued to smoke and stared at the other person.

"Phi, can you lend me a light?" The little boy raised the cigarette between his fingers, looked directly at Boun, and smiled without any fear.

If the previous eye contact was unintentional, this time they were close enough, Boun was sure that the boy was flirting directly.

Boun had an idea in mind and deliberately frowned.

"No!"

"Why? Didn't it say that if there are any difficulties, can look for the police?" The little boy asked in a soft voice without any fear.

"Are you an adult to smoke?" Boun glanced at the man in front of him without hesitation.

"Of course I am an adult." The boy seemed to have seen through Boun's thoughts, took something out of his pocket, and moved closer to Boun. "Let me show you the ID card."

Boun saw the name on the ID card, Prem, which sounded nice. As for age, he was three years younger than him. Boun looked up at the real face, which looked really young. He looked back at the ID card, and the family address on it was not in this city.

"Not a local? Come to play?"

"No. I came to Bangkok to develop my career and... to find love." At this point, the boy named Prem deliberately glanced at Boun again, with a charming smile in his eyes. "I opened a flower shop, Phi, do you want to come and buy some flowers?"

Prem told Boun the address of the flower shop, but Boun didn't respond, but he remembered it in his heart. A friend at the same table came out and pulled Boun back, who was hiding from the alcohol, and the two didn't have time to say anything else. But before leaving, Boun took the cigarette from Prem's hand. As a policeman, he still had basic observation skills. The way Prem held the cigarette between his fingers, he knew at a glance that he was not a smoker.

Prem, who doesn't smoke, approached him on the pretext of asking for a light, and Boun checked whether he was an adult and wrote down his identity information. The two of them saw through each other's thoughts, but they tacitly agreed not to say it. Just like the look they exchanged when they passed each other at the door, they knew that if one of them took the initiative, they would meet again soon.

In the end, they didn't drink much that night, after all, Boun and Tay had to work early the next day.

Boun had been keeping something in mind, but he had been too busy all day to think about it. Before leaving get off work, he finally sat down to drink a glass of water. Glancing at the police system on the computer screen, Boun hesitated for a moment, but gave up the idea of entering Prem's name into it.

He turned off the computer, stood up, stretched his joints, and prepared to leave work.

"Boun."

"P'Fern." Boun greeted with a smile, probably guessing why Fern came to see him.

"I looked at the shift schedule, you're off work at six tomorrow."

"Hehe." Boun laughed dryly and didn't answer.

"Don't make excuses this time. Dew really likes you and has been waiting for you to meet him when you are free. I beg you, just go and meet him and have a meal."

Fern is the elder sister of the police station. She usually takes good care of Boun and has known Boun's sexual orientation for a long time. Half a month ago, Fern suddenly told Boun that one of her cousins fell in love with Boun at first sight after seeing his photo and asked her to help him to get in touch with him.

Boun was honest with Fern, saying that he didn't want to go on a blind date, and that he believed in fate. But Fern thought Boun was a nice guy, and that it would be great if he could be with her cousin, and her cousin also expressed his desire to meet Boun. But Fern made several appointments, but Boun always made excuses and refused to meet him.

"I told Dew, just this once. If you feel the same way, you can get along with each other. If not, I won't be involved in this matter anymore. What do you say?"

At this point, Boun had no choice but to agree. But he knew very well that he was just going through the process and there was no chance that anything would really happen between him and Dew. The simplest thing was that if he had a relationship through a colleague, the whole institute would know about it, and his father who was far away in the headquarters would also know about it. Boun didn't want to have an unpleasant experience with his father.

Fern was really quick to act. After Boun agreed, he received a friend request from Dew on Line before he even got home. Boun agreed to the friend request after parking the car. He didn't delay the request on purpose, because he couldn't avoid it anyway.

Dew was very polite and courteous, and was very humble about Boun's agreement to meet. Boun didn't want to chat, so he went straight to the point and made an appointment for dinner tomorrow night, letting the other party choose the location.

The next day, Fern was afraid that Boun would regret it, so he knocked on Boun's head before leaving get off work to remind him not to be late. Even though Boun was very reluctant, he still had basic courtesy, changed into clean clothes, and arrived at the restaurant early.

The location was a western restaurant chosen by Dew. Dew said he chose this place because he had been there before and it was pretty good and the food was delicious. Boun nodded in agreement, thinking to himself that the restaurant was easy to find, had a beautiful environment, and the price was moderate. It seemed that Dew had prepared well for this meeting with him, and even his attentiveness in choosing the restaurant showed through, with careful consideration of every detail.

Dew not only paid attention to the restaurant selection, but also carefully matched his clothes. Dew's appearance is not stunning, but his temperament is gentle and moderate, which adds a lot of points overall.

Unfortunately, in Boun's eyes, these were nothing compared to the first sight of love. Boun didn't want to give himself the opportunity to be a scumbag, nor did he want to procrastinate and waste the other person's time, so he tactfully expressed his thoughts after the meal.

Although Dew's eyes were full of disappointment, he still forced a smile on his face and said it was okay. He also felt that the two of them were not very suitable and wanted to make friends with Boun. Boun breathed a sigh of relief. Although they couldn't be lovers, they could certainly be friends. In this way, he didn't have to apologize to Fern, nor did he need to feel guilty towards Dew, and everyone was happy.

Boun was relieved after the matter was resolved, humming a little tune as he drove home. On the way, he was still thinking, fortunately he and Dew didn't like each other, if they really did, there would be a lot of follow-up problems. After thinking about it, he found it funny again. If he really liked Dew, he would be cautious. He didn't want to have a relationship and then implicate Fern, the matchmaker. Who knows what strange things his father will do to prevent his son from finding a boyfriend.

Of course, he wouldn't be so great as to pretend that he likes girls or never fall in love again just to consider his father's views and feelings. He was just afraid of trouble. If he was in a relationship, he wouldn't do it under his father's nose. The more Boun thought about it, the more he found himself funny. Why think about all this, all the prerequisites are to first meet someone who makes him fall in love.

The car stopped at the traffic light, and Boun thought of the boy named Prem. That morning, Prem looked hurried and unkempt, giving him a fresh and youthful look, which made Boun feel even brighter. Strangely enough, he hadn't run into the person he had often met in the past few days.

Boun knew where Prem's flower shop was, and whether to take the initiative was entirely up to him. From the first time Prem met him at the food stall door to the subsequent repeated encounters, he was intentionally trying to attract his attention. Yesterday, he used the excuse of borrowing a light to flirt with him directly.

Boun believes in first sight. Prem has already impressed him deeply, and if he sees him a few more times, that feeling will come up. Boun is not afraid that Prem will approach him with bad intentions, he believes that he still has the confidence to control it.

But once he takes the initiative to find Prem, or responds to Prem, the purpose and degree will be very different. It means that he is ready to accept the purpose of dating, and accept that both parties get to know each other and even take the next step.

Boun wasn't sure if he had that much interest in a stranger, nor was he sure if he was ready.
