1. Avoiding Trouble

Water droplets hit the glass window of her dilapidated room .

Sulli sighed looking out of her window. Today was raining heavily as if the heavens were expressing their sorrows . Looking outside at the cloudy sky and thunder storm , Sulli's mood went down .

The rain was too depressing for her . It always bought out the bad memories of her .

She couldn't help but to sigh . Pulling her attention back into her studies , Sulli concentrated back at her notebook.

Just as she was about to write her homework , the light went off .

" Damn it "

The light must have gone out because she haven't had paid her electricity bill .

And she had no money left after paying the apartment rent .

Cost of living is very high in K City . Sulli had to work three jobs to able to pay for the apartment even though it was small and dilapidated.

And to afford food for herself had become a luxury for her . Hence there was no question of paying for electricity now . She had to wait for her advance from her boss to pay the electricity bill .

Feeling frustrated Sulli closed her book and led back on her bed . Tears streaming from her , it was too tough for her to manage everything.

She wished she had good parents . But god was never kind to her .

Her life only got tougher and tougher .

Sulli cried herself to sleep .

The next day morning sunrays heat her face . Sulli slowly got up . Her sleep hadn't had completely broken . She wanted 5 more minutes of sleep . Just as she was about to fall back asleep , her phone alarm begun ringing loudly . 5 minutes more sleep too had become a luxury .

She quickly got ready , packed her school bag pack , grabbed her phone . And left her apartment , ofcourse after locking it .

Reaching at her first part time job , Sulli kept her backpack in the staff room and changed into her uniform before going back at the desk of her convenience store .

But no one was coming . Suddenly the convenience store opened , someone entered .

" Welcome 24/7 H-Mart " Sulli quickly bowed and greeted them .

She heard a hum from the customer , before feeling the customer walking past her .

Sulli slowly raised her head to look at the back of customer , who was busy choosing from beverages section .

Sulli felt the customer was familiar but she couldn't pinpoint who was the person until the customer turned around with her chosen drink .

* gasp *

' Isn't she Tiffany Jung , the daughter of the billionaire who controls the medical industry ? What is she doing here ? '

Sulli's mind was racing with many thoughts until it came to halt ; when Tiffany put 5 cans of chocolate drinks .

" May I have this billed out ? " Tiffany asked.

" S...s..sure Miss " Sulli stuttered , feeling intimidated by her presence . She was anxious . Her hands her shaking while she was billing the items .

" You seem familiar......umm have I seen you somewhere ? " Tiffany asked scanning Sulli from top to bottom .

Sulli felt like she was being judged . She didn't want Tiffany to find out that she was going to same school as hers and was a scholarship student .

Sulli neither wanted the rich kids attention nor wished to get bullies by them . So she quickly put her billed items into an eco friendly bag and shoved it into Tiffany's arms .

" Its 23 dollars and we haven't meant anywhere " Sulli said in one breath . Her heart was racing . She couldn't imagine the misery she would have to go through if Tiffany finds out she goes to same school as hers .

" Hmm okay . Do you accept card ? I haven't got any cash on me " Tiffany replied , her eyes never leaving Sulli's slightly shaking figure . She was finding it weird but didn't questioned Sulli's behaviour .

" Yes we accept " Sulli pushed forward the card machine .

Tiffany pulled out her Shanel wallet from her dress pocket and pulled out her black card from it . She swiped her card and put on the password , ofcourse in the blind view of Sulli .

Tiffany put her black card back in her Shanel wallet and her wallet back in her packet and waited for few seconds until the machine notified about successful transaction .

Tiffany grabbed her stuff and walked out .

" Thank you for shopping with us " Sulli said behind her back .

Sulli waited for Tiffany to completely walk away before sighing in relief

" I escaped a devil " Sulli muttered to herself . Her heart thundering against her ribcage .

Keeping her head low she walked into Wang-Xi Elite University , her university among the scholarship students just after the middle class students walked in .

In Wang-Xi Elite University , the students are divided into four groups — The topmost are the Elites , whose parents or relatives have a strong influence or control over certain industries and have extremely powerful connections .

The next in the hierarchy pyramids are the Rich Kids , whose families are rich but not extremely . They have good connection with strong people but they are below elites . They have to submissive to the elites .

The third in the line are the middle class students who are controlled and tossed and turned by the rich and elites .

And at the bottom are poor kids or scholarship students who have zero influence and can have their careers finished at the snap of fingers of Elites and rich kids .

Sulli is among this scholarship students . Hence she tries her best to keep her presence minimal . She remains lowkey to peaceful graduate amd get a job at her dream company . Hence she tries her best to avoid trouble .

For instance , she won't invite trouble in her way by trying to stop a fight between Adrian Wang (the son of business tycoon Mr.Steven Wang who controls the economy of more than 15 countries ) and Jihu Kang , a scholarly student who belongs to middle class .

Even though her heart hurts , she won't stop Adrian Wang who is busy beating Jihu Kang black and blue , as if trying to take her anger . She had to go to her class , but she couldn't go since the fight was blocking her way .

She had no option but keep her head low and stand with other scholarship students , praying to god that this gets over quickly .

Sulli could hear Adrian's friends who were also Elites snickering and laughing . She felt bad for Jihu Kang . She was sure his career was going to take downfall . Why did he have to offend Young Master Wang ?

Suddenly Jihu Kang fell at her feet , catching her off guard . She flinched and moved back . But while doing so she looked into the eyes of Adrian Wang , who was pulling Jihu Kang by his collar with one hand .
