Episode 8

When I returned home I felt exhausted, I didn't know what to do from now on, I barely set foot inside the house and one of the guards told me that my father was waiting for me in his office, I didn't say a word, I went towards the door and before I knocked my father told me to come in, he dismissed his beta, and it was just him and me.

"You asked for me." I said without looking at him.

"We were worried, where were you?"

"Around."

"We are still under attack, I don't want you wandering around, even more so alone."

"Yes sir, do you need anything else?"

"Look at me, daughter."

I took a deep breath and obeyed him.

"You are my daughter, no matter who you came from, I am your father, I worry about you, so please don't push us away from you."

"It's a lot to take in, don't expect me to act like everything is normal."

"I know you need time, but for your mother and me nothing has changed, we are your parents."

"Deep down I knew something was wrong, I always found myself different, Hele... Helena always said I took after my grandmother, which wasn't true, was it? You said I looked like you and it's another big lie, it's as if nothing I lived was true, as if I was in a big bubble of lies."

"You are my daughter."

"Can I go?"

He looked at me, I could see the sadness in his eyes, we were all suffering from this, it was no secret.

"You can."

I leave there and go up to my room, I just want to take a shower, sleep and wake up thinking that this was all a bad dream, but I wanted it so much at that moment, I entered my room and there was my mother.

"Where were you?" She asks me as soon as I open the door.

"I'm tired, please let me rest."

"Please honey, you need to understand that everything we did was for your own good."

"Please, Helena..."

Calling her by her name was a blow to her, I saw a lone tear roll down her face, I didn't want to be ungrateful, I couldn't, but I felt so much, so much anger, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, I never wanted to hurt her, I was broken inside and as much as I just wanted to scream, it wouldn't help, I looked at her again.

"I need to rest, it's a lot to take in, I need time."

"All right." She said turning to leave.

Deep down I knew my mother loved me and as upset as I was I couldn't let her leave like that.

"I love you, you know that, don't you?" I said and she stopped instantly looking at me, a smile formed on her lips, but I could still see a drop of sadness in her eyes.

"I love you too, honey, now I'm going to let you rest."

"Thank you... Mom."

"And don't be late for dinner."

We both laughed.

"Yes ma'am."

When the door closed I didn't wait, I started to prepare a backpack with everything I thought necessary, I took my piggy bank and broke it, I was always very economical, the amount was enough to stay carefree for several days, lodging and food, that was all I needed.

I hid the backpack at the bottom of my wardrobe and went to take a shower, I intended to relax, but the water touched my breasts, I remembered that smell, just the memory affected my senses, I turned off the shower and held on tight to the sink, I looked at myself in the mirror, my eyes were blue, I stared at myself and then they turned amber again.

"My wolf is here," I said to myself.

I smiled still struggling to breathe, my eyes returned to normal, I got changed and went downstairs, there were still two hours to go before dinner, I went outside, they had already started decorating the city, in two days we would have a wedding.

"Hi," Hanna said as soon as she saw me.

"Hi Hanna."

"Want to help us?"

"Sure, what do you need?"

"We're going to hang decorations all over town, we're having the biggest wedding ever, Hellen wants everything to be perfect."

"And I'm sure it will be."

"Arya... We... we were as surprised as you, we shouldn't be talking about this."

"Then don't." I snapped, not wanting to talk about it anyway.

"But I must make it very clear, I am your sister, I will always be here as I always have been."

"I know, Hanna, now let's hang this up or we'll be late for dinner and you know what being late causes?"

"Mom's fury."

"That's right."
