Episode 4

Derek

As soon as I enter the woods, going deeper into the forest, I take a deep breath and transform into a wolf. I feel the transformation tearing at my skin, my claws emerging, and soon I am in my majestic wolf form. With the transformation complete, I raise my head and howl, calling the pack that was scattered.

Dylan, my beta and trusted friend, is the first to approach. He moves with the grace and strength of a second-in-command, his eyes shining with a mixture of curiosity and concern.

"They are human, Derek. You know what that implies. The pack won't like it one bit," he says directly, as he also approaches in his wolf form.

I approach Dylan with slow steps, my paws sinking slightly into the damp grass. I feel the heavy responsibility on my shoulders, but the decision has already been made.

"They are under my supervision. They are my responsibility. The pack doesn't have to worry," I say, my voice firm and authoritative, but with a tone that indicates that the discussion is far from over.

Dylan stares into my eyes, searching for any sign of doubt. He knows what's at stake, and the presence of humans in our territory is a risk we cannot ignore.

"Derek, you know what this means. The pack's trust will be shaken. Any mistake and we could have serious problems. Do you trust them?" he asks, his voice laden with concern and loyalty.

I take a deep breath, feeling the weight of his words. I can't show any weakness or uncertainty in front of him.

"It's not a matter of trusting them, Dylan. It's a matter of necessity. They were in danger, and I made a decision. They need protection, and while they are here, they will be under my direct supervision. There will be no problems if the pack follows my orders," I reply, trying to convey my conviction.

Dylan lowers his head for a moment, in a sign of respect, but also of resignation. He knows that once my mind is made up, there is no going back.

"Very well, Derek. But know that I will be watching. Any sign of trouble, any hint of betrayal, and we'll need to act," he says, his voice low and firm.

I nod, aware that Dylan is just doing his job as beta. He turns and howls, summoning the rest of the pack to gather. Little by little, the other wolves appear, their eyes shining in the darkness of the forest.

"Listen to me, all of you. From now on, we will have two humans in our territory. They are under my protection and supervision. Any action against them will be considered a direct betrayal to me," I say, my voice echoing through the clearing, firm and uncompromising.

The wolves around me murmur amongst themselves, but none dare openly challenge my authority. They know that my word is law.

"Dylan, make sure everyone understands and respects this. And keep watch. We can't afford any mistakes," I say, as he nods in understanding.

With that, I start to walk away, still feeling the weight of the decision I made. I know there will be challenges ahead, both from within and outside the pack. Facing this, I run swiftly through the Black Forest, dodging the large trees, passing through the dense vegetation, and jumping over moss-covered logs.

The moist smell of the forest invades my nostrils, and the wind blows both my fur and the tops of the trees above me as I advance towards the cave. The situation makes me laugh internally; if that human saw me enter the cave, she would really believe that I live there. But the truth is much more complex.

I reach the cave entrance and pass through the curtain of water from the waterfall that protects it. On the other side, I approach a large stone. Placing my paw on it, the stone moves away, revealing a hidden path.

I cross the portal, emerging on the hill in my true wolf world, where the vibrant energy of the tribe envelops me. I breathe in the air deeply. The houses below are a mix of rustic comfort and modernity, designed to blend in with the nature around us. I descend the hill and enter the village.

"Hi, Alpha sir!" shouts a little wolf boy, greeting me as he plays with his little sister.

"Hello, little one," I say, smiling as I see them playing.

My father did a beautiful job keeping our species protected here for millennia. We have evolved, but not in the same way as humans, who bring destruction with them. We live in harmony with nature, which is the basis of our existence. I have always studied humans, I know their lies, manipulations, and their self-destructive nature.

But that human... there is something about her that sets her apart from the others. Perhaps that's why my instincts led me to save her without hesitation. Her name echoes in my thoughts, "Siena," like a constant whisper. But in the end, I know I will face new obstacles, and I am ready for whatever lies ahead.
