Episode 17: New year trouble

During new year, Reena and Ayu was ready to go to Reena homeland.

"Teacher, do you really have to wear armor?", Reena asked. "I mean. You won't know when danger is, right?", Ayu said. "True. But, teacher is the strongest. Why do you need armor?", Reena said. "Maybe, I'm so used to it.", Ayu smiled. And they went to Reena mansion.

"Welcome teacher, to my mansion. It's a house I have from my hard work.", Reena. "Wow! So big!", Ayu looks in pure excitement.

And a lot of maids lined up and welcoming them, "Welcome to Dayana kingdom". "Reena! You sure are rich!", Ayu said. "Well, teacher. Being a cultivator makes a lot of money. Do you not know that?", Reena chuckles after seeing her teacher's shock face. "Oh, right. Should I install the waystone here? With that, you can come here often.", Ayu said. Reena would love it and asked her teacher to put the waystone, replacing the fountain. Ayu nodded and destroyed the fountain.

Unbeknownst to her, the fountain actually cost a fortune. And she put the waystone and decorated around it. Her maids were so shocked at how bold Ayu is. "Hey, that human really just destroyed the jade fountain that could cost a fortune. Doesn't she knows how hard to even get one?", one of the maid speaks behind them. Reena wasn't satisfied and told the head maid. "Yu, remove the maids that gossip about my teacher.", Reena ordered her head maid and her head maid instantly did her job. The other maids was shocked that Reena still as ruthless as she is. "If any of you dare to mock at my teacher again. You aren't needed here anymore. Understand?", Reena piercing fierce eyes scared all of her maids and bodyguards.

They thought, Reena has gone soft, seeing how she admired her teacher and so on. "Teacher! Let's go around the city. I bet you like festival, right?", Reena said. Ayu nods happily. It's her first time being in a festival. Reena's people were shocked that Reena is in the city. "Princess Reena is back!", they're having a festival. "Who is that next to princess Reena? That person sure have the audacity to walk the same height as princess", some of them gossiping behind her.

"Teacher, ignores them. Actually, Dayana kingdom doesn't give good treatment to human.", Reena said. "Oh, no wonder. I thought, I did something wrong.", Ayu said. "Well, you have seen the festival, right? This is how we celebrate the new year.", Reena said. "Yeah, it's colorful. Seems like they put a lot of effort into this.", Ayu said.

One of the kids accidentally hit her teacher. "Ah, sorry.", the kid apologize. Ayu smiled, "You're not, hurt, right?". "You're human, right? Mom said humans are bad. But, you're not bad, big sister.", the kid said. "Well, I don't know about others. But, I'm a kind human.", Ayu wants to pat the kid head. And Reena stopped her. "Teacher. In our tradition, patting someone on the head is only when you have an intimate relationship with them. Meaning, you can only pat their head if they give consent to it.", Reena said. "Oh, is that so? Sorry. I'm so used to being kind to kids.", Ayu smiled.

They went to buy some souvenir, her people make a lot of exception discounts for Reena. But, they also give a lot of look at Ayu. "Teacher, if you're uncomfortable...", Reena was about to finish her words. But, seeing her teacher is in awe of everything like a little kid, first time coming out from her house. She decided to lower her guard a little.

Then, a moment later. They can hear a loud scream. Seems like someone being robbed. "Reena, can you help the person?", Ayu asked. Reena nods and instantly finished helping the person. Her people are congratulating Reena for her quick thinking. Ayu was happy that Reena was happy. But, some of them just couldn't let go that a human ordered their princess like a slave.

"Teacher! Did I do a good job?", Reena asked happily. Ayu nodded. "Then, can I have a head pat?", Reena asked. "Eh, is that okay?", Ayu asked. Reena replied, "To me, teacher. You're my friend, my teacher, my everything. So, please?". Ayu pat Reena head gently. "Reena, you're my first friend, thank you for everything.", Ayu said. Ayu words make Reena feels flustered. "Not fair, why do you have to use cheesy words.", Reena pouts.

Awhile later, we were stopped by her sister, which is the first princess. "Well, well, well... Looks who it is. The second useless princess.", the first princess mock her. "Vera...", Reena said. "Is this your sister?", Ayu asked. "Hah! Me? This loser sister? Think again lowly human, you're nothing compared to our high race.", the first princess laughed at her. "You! Take that back!", Reena was so mad. But, Ayu didn't mind it since she used to the toxic player's community in games. That's what Ayu thought. But, she was severely hurt from it.

"Eh... Why am I crying?", Ayu said. Reena tried to do her everything to make her teacher happy. "Teacher, are you okay?!", Reena asked worriedly. "It hurts... My lung feels tight.", Ayu is still crying. Reena's anger was met with the ancestor spirit of her people. The ancestor reacts to her emotions. Not even the queen can do that. The elders saw that Reena has acquired a body which all the royalty history never had. Being blessed by the indomitable formidable spirits.

But, her anger met was an unexpected. Which causing the spirit to react and thinking Reena is in danger. "Ancestor spirits of Dayana. Please protect my teacher.", Reena was mad, and the spirits followed her order. The first princess didn't want to stand like she is a side character and decided to attack Reena multiple times. This only fuel Reena angers. "This is what you wanted, right?! I come here because my teacher wants to see. How we do festival! In new year! And yet, you just have to make it her worst experience!", Reena punched the first princess face while being attacked by the first princess bodyguards.

Reena's powers amplified due to her anger and the pride pendant just make her even stronger. The first princess was motionless. The queen was mad that the elders didn't do anything. The elders told the queen that the first princess has angered a divine entity. The queen thought the elders lost it. She ordered the elders to protect the first princess. But, then Reena speaks, "Elders of Dayana Kingdom.". The elders kneeled down to her voice, "Yes, divine guardian of Dayana. What is your order.", the elders trembling. "Take the first princess away. And never let her hurts my teacher anymore.", Reena words are an absolute order, and they do everything she said. The queen tried to harm her, but the elder protect her. "If you don't want me to curse on this kingdom. Do your job, properly this time.", her eyes was darker than any darkness they ever imagined.

Reena went to her teacher, who has been sobbing non-stop. Reena hugs Ayu. "Teacher, I'm so sorry. I didn't know this would happen.", Reena said. Ayu was still crying in Reena's arms like a little child lost her confidence in the world. "Reena. Please... Hug me. I'm... Scared.", Ayu cried and a lot of tribulations came around her. Seemingly reacting to her tears. The people thought Ayu brought bad luck to them.

Reena didn't want to care what others thought of her teacher. They went back home after the chaotic days. Ayu was still sad. Reena is still cradling Ayu like a baby.
