Episode 5:Sweet Delights

Episode 5: Sweet Delights

Xia Lianyi was known for her scholarly prowess, but few knew about her secret talent - her culinary skills. She had learned the art of Chinese cooking from her mother, and her dishes were renowned for their flavor and finesse.

One day, she decided to showcase her skills to the prince and Li Wei. She spent hours in the kitchen, whipping up a storm of sweet delights. Her specialty was Chinese desserts, and she had made a few of her favorites to share.

She presented a tray of delicate pastries and sweet treats to Prince Yue, who was immediately taken by the aroma and presentation. "Xia Lianyi, you are a true artist," he said, his eyes wide with wonder.

He took a bite of the sweet rice cake, and his eyes widened in delight. "This is incredible," he said, his voice filled with genuine praise.

Xia smiled, her heart warmed by the prince's appreciation. She offered some to Li Wei as well, who was equally impressed by her culinary skills.

But as Li Wei took a bite, Prince Yue's expression darkened. He felt a pang of jealousy seeing Xia share her talents with someone else.

"Why are you sharing this with him?" Prince Yue asked, his voice tinged with possessiveness.

Xia looked at him in surprise. "Why not? Food is meant to be shared, and Li Wei appreciates good cooking."

Prince Yue's eyes narrowed. "I thought you only cooked for me."

Xia laughed. "You're being silly, Prince Yue. Food is a universal language, and everyone deserves to enjoy it."

But Prince Yue's jealousy had been sparked, and he couldn't shake it off. He excused himself, feeling annoyed that Xia had shared her talents with someone else.

As he left, Xia looked at Li Wei and shrugged. "I guess the prince is not used to sharing the spotlight," she said with a smile.

Li Wei chuckled. "Don't worry, Xia Lianyi. Your culinary skills are a gift to be shared, and I'm grateful to be a recipient."

Xia smiled, feeling grateful for Li Wei's understanding. But she knew that Prince Yue's jealousy was a sign of things to come. The game was on, and she was ready to play.

Over the next few days, Xia continued to share her culinary delights with both Prince Yue and Li Wei. But Prince Yue's jealousy only grew, and he began to make snide comments about Li Wei's presence.

Xia tried to brush it off, but she knew that she had to address the issue soon. She couldn't let Prince Yue's jealousy ruin her friendship with Li Wei.

One day, she decided to confront Prince Yue about his behavior. "Prince Yue, what's going on with you?" she asked, her voice firm but gentle.

Prince Yue looked at her, his eyes flashing with anger. "You know exactly what I'm talking about, Xia Lianyi. You're spending too much time with Li Wei, and it's not fair to me."

Xia sighed. "Prince Yue, we've been over this before. Food is meant to be shared, and so is friendship. There's enough of me to go around."

Prince Yue's face darkened. "I don't want to share you with anyone, Xia Lianyi. You're mine, and I won't let anyone take that away from me."

Xia's heart skipped a beat at the prince's possessive words. She knew that she had to set him straight, once and for all.

"Prince Yue, I'm not yours to own," she said, her voice firm and clear. "I'm my own person, with my own thoughts and feelings. And I won't let anyone dictate who I can and can't spend time with."

Prince Yue's face fell, and for a moment, Xia saw a glimmer of sadness in his eyes. But then, his expression hardened, and he turned and walked away.

Xia watched him go, feeling a mix of emotions. She knew that she had stood up for herself, but she also knew that she had hurt Prince Yue's feelings.

As she turned to leave, she saw Li Wei watching her from afar, a look of concern on his face. She smiled at him, feeling grateful for his support.

"Thanks for being here, Li Wei," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Li Wei nodded, his eyes filled with understanding. "I'll always be here for you, Xia Lianyi. No matter what."

And with that, Xia knew that she had made the right choice. She had chosen friendship and loyalty over possessiveness and jealousy. And she knew that she would always stand by her decision, no matter what came next.
