Episode 2: The Royal Library
Xia followed Prince Yue through the grand pavilion, her eyes scanning the shelves stacked with ancient texts and scrolls. The royal library was even more impressive than she had imagined. Scholars and officials bustled about, consulting manuscripts and taking notes.
The prince led her to a section dedicated to military strategy and history. Xia's eyes widened as she spotted rare manuscripts and texts she had only read about in books.
"Ah, the 'Art of War' by Sun Tzu!" she exclaimed, reaching for the scroll.
Prince Yue chuckled. "You're indeed a scholar, Xia Lianyi. I see you're familiar with the classics."
Xia blushed, feeling a sense of pride. "I've studied the great works of ancient China. But I never thought I'd see them in person."
The prince smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm glad I can show you something new. Now, let's see if you can help me with a problem."
He led her to a large map of the kingdom, pointing out strategic locations and troop movements. Xia listened intently, her mind racing with ideas.
"I think I see a weakness in the enemy's defense," she said, tracing a path on the map.
Prince Yue's eyes narrowed, impressed. "Go on."
Xia explained her theory, using her knowledge of Sun Tzu's strategies to support her argument. The prince listened attentively, nodding along.
"Well done, Xia Lianyi," he said, when she finished. "You have a keen mind for warfare. I think you'll be a valuable asset to our kingdom."
Xia beamed, feeling a sense of accomplishment. She had never imagined her knowledge would be useful in ancient China.
As they continued to discuss strategy, Xia realized that she was having the time of her life. She had never felt so alive, so engaged. And it was all thanks to Prince Yue and his kingdom.
The prince gestured to a nearby table, where a scholar was copying a manuscript. "Let's take a closer look at this text. It may hold the key to our victory."
Xia followed him, her heart pounding with excitement. She had never felt so close to history, so close to making a difference.
As they pored over the manuscript, Xia knew that she had found her place in this ancient kingdom. She was no longer just a writer from the future; she was a scholar, a strategist, and a valuable member of Prince Yue's team.
And as she glanced up at the prince, she saw something in his eyes that made her heart skip a beat. It was a glimmer of admiration, of respect, and maybe even something more.
Xia's cheeks flushed, and she looked away, her heart racing with excitement. She had never imagined that she would find romance in ancient China. But now, she couldn't help but wonder if it was possible.
As they continued to work, the sun began to set , casting a warm glow over the library.Xia felt like she was in a dream,a dream she never wanted to wake up from.
