Chapter 4

Damien handed her a small package, wrapped in brown paper and twine.

"Meet me at the old oak tree in the quad at midnight," he said, his eyes glinting with a mysterious light "and come alone."

Olivia took the package, her heart racing with anticipation.

"What's this?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

Damien's smile was enigmatic.

"Just a little something to help you understand what's going on" he said

"but be warned, Olivia. Once you know the truth, there's no going back."

With that, he turned and disappeared into the crowd, leaving Olivia staring at the package in her hand. What could it contain? And what did Damien mean by "the truth"?

As she walked back to her dorm room, Olivia's mind raced with possibilities. She couldn't shake the feeling that something big might happen and it will change the way she sees life.

That night, at midnight, Olivia made her way to the old oak tree in the quad.

The moon was full overhead, casting eerie shadows on the ground and there, waiting for her, was Damien.

As Olivia approached the old oak tree, she could feel her heart pounding in her chest.

The package, still clutched in her hand, seemed to weigh heavier with each step.

She had no idea what to expect, but Damien's words echoed in her mind: "Once you know the truth, there's no going back."

Damien stood beneath the tree, his eyes gleaming with an otherworldly intensity. "Open it," he said, his voice low and husky.

Olivia's fingers trembled as she unwrapped the twine and pulled away the brown paper. Inside, she found a small, leather-bound book.

The cover was old and worn, adorned with strange symbols that seemed to shift and dance in the moonlight.

"What is this?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Damien's smile was enigmatic. "A family heirloom," he said. "One that holds the secrets of your past."

Olivia's eyes widened as she opened the book. The pages were yellowed and crackling, filled with handwritten notes and diagrams that made no sense to her.

As she turned the pages, she began to feel a strange sensation - as if the book was speaking to her, whispering secrets in her ear.

Suddenly, the world around her began to spin. The tree seemed to loom larger, its branches reaching out like skeletal fingers.

Damien's eyes burned with an intense light, as if he was drawing her into a world beyond her wildest dreams.

Olivia felt herself being pulled into the book, into a realm where the laws of physics no longer applied.

Olivia's eyes snapped back into focus, her mind reeling from the visions she had seen.
