[one week before the last day of the school year]
"Everyone!! Good luck with the exam!" Shouted the homeroom teacher.
Everyone in Yura's class cheered as anxiety filled their heart. In seven days, they will take the exam that will decide their fate. This is not only the last day of school, but it may also be the last which Yura and Jaemun will have another session together. As soon as school ended, Yura's classmates asked her to go for a last dinner party, which she declined because somehow she wanted to meet Mr.Jaemun for a quiet last meeting rather than going for a loud and buzzling farewell dinner.
" You didn't go to the farewell dinner ?" Jaemun asked.
" Nope, I didn't like the idea."
They did not talk much due to the feeling of emptiness, knowing that today might potentially be the last day they can meet with a proper excuse of tutoring.
During Yura's quiet exercise completion period, she received a message saying that she had passed the TOPIK exam. Thus, she needs to fetch the certificate.
" I passed!" Yura exclaimed.
" Wow!! That is really great! Should I treat you to dinner today!"
" Why?"
" Because my work paid off" Jaemun said as Yura's eyes seemed to suddenly sparkle due to an unknown reason.
" Then.... If I pass my high school final exams.... would you treat me to dinner agian?"
"Should I? Hmm.. we'll see" Jaemun smirked playfully.
"Can you treat me to ice-cream?" Yura asked with uncertainties.
"Why ice cream?"
" It occurred to me that... we never had ice cream together before...hehe..It's in front of the cafe shop." Yura replied guiltily, then smiled as soon as Jaemun nodded.
The two finished the lesson and headed for the ice cream shop in front of the cafe shop.
As the two sat together at a table near the window, a waiter came to their side and handed them a menu.
" Welcome! what would you like to order?"
" Can I have a look fir-?"
"Today... because it's a Friday, our shop has a promotion, which includes a 30% off for a couple set."
"What do we get from the set?" Yura asked.
" In the couple set, customers are provided with a 3 scoop of choice, lover ice cream bowl and a crispy butter bread red velvet ice cream sandwich. Along with 2 iced peach blossom tea."
" wuuuu! Sounds great! Can we get this?" Yura pleaded.
" Whatever you like. We'll choose this one then." Jaemun shrugged.
"However, to claim this promotion, please upload a couple photo on instragram tagging our shop."
Yura and Jaemun looked at each other, realizing that lying fired back on them. They had no choice but to do as requested. To be safe, Jaemun took the initiative to post the picture of them selfieing as he have no contacts with any students from the school.
Soon after the procedure, their order arrived. Both of them enjoyed their dessert quietly as the rain started to pour outside. As they were eating, they would occasionally look each other in the eyes, across their faces, a smile spread for one another, and then back to the scene outside the window. People were walking back and forth as umbrellas unwinded in each person's hand. They would spot people holding hands under the same umbrella or even high schoolers, who seem to be a pair, running together as they try to shelter themselves from the rain by using their bags.
Somehow, Yura felted warm and soothing, somewhere inside her was yearning for this moment to stop. Similarly, Jaemun felt his mind relaxing to the music in the shop as he watched his surroundings unfold. Jaemun then caught a glimpse of bread crumbs on Yura's cheeks.
*Should I give her a paper? Or ignore it? Or 'impulsively' wipe it for her?* Jaemun thought. Without any hesitation, he gave a tissue paper to Yura as he told her where the crumbs were.
"On you left cheeks" said jaemun," why are you wiping your right cheeks? It's the other side."
Yura wiped her cheeks as told but only to see Jaemun disapproval as he shook his head. Suddenly, Jaemun tried reaching out his hands only to pause when he saw that Yura finally got the place right.
After they finished their treat, they two expected the rain to stop, but it wasn't showing any signs of stopping. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunate for the two, Yura forgot her umbrella again.
" Can I ..." Yura tried to speak up
" Sure, I'll walk you home... I mean train station"
" I think I need a company to walk me home today, it's a bit weird to be graduating soon"
" Sure, it's a pleasure to help you" Jaemun smiled as he opened the umbrella.
Under the rain, the two walked side by side on the side walk towards the train station. It was getting quite late, and the streets were starting to get emptied, and so was the station.
While the two rode the train, suddenly a curiosity fumbled in Yura's head.
"Mr.Jaemun where do you live, though? It's getting pretty late. How will you get home?"
" Well... to be honest, my home is not that far away from yours, it's in the same area. I even saw you once in that district."
"How did you know live in that district though?"
"Well there are student's addresses on the student information form, and I have access to the student forms. Does that explain?" Jaemun cleared up.
"Hmm... It does, I just got a little curious. Don't take that the wrong way." Yura replied quickly.
"Okk Okk" Jaemun replied with a grin.
Soon, the train arrived at the stop, along with the slowly fading of the rain. They walked side by side towards Yura's house under the moonlight as they made small conversations about what happened during the day and what Yura would do in the future, considering that she passed TOPIK
