the darkest hour

"In twilight's hollow, where shadows reign

A presence stirs, with malevolent refrain

Echoes of darkness, whispers in the night

A summoning spell, that conjures endless fright

The wind it howls, like a mournful sigh

As darkness closes in, with a deadly guise

The trees they creak, like skeletal hands

As the demon draws near, with a terrifying stand

In the heart of darkness, where terror reigns

Lili's soul is trapped, in a living nightmare's chains

The demon's eyes glow, like lanterns bright

As it whispers secrets, in a haunting, ghostly light

The darkness deepens, like an endless well

As Lili's screams are drowned, in a demon's hell

The night it seems, has a life of its own

As terror consumes her, forever alone."

third person POV

Lili's body was temporarily paralyzed, with only her eyes able to move freely, scanning the room with a sense of desperation and fear. An unsettling silence filled the air, punctuated only by the faint ticking sound of the clock, which seemed to echo through the stillness like a heartbeat. The darkness seemed to press in around her, making her feel trapped and vulnerable.

As soon as the paralysis subsided, Lili hastily threw off her quilt and rose to her feet, her skin covered in goosebumps and her heart racing with anxiety. She was still reeling from the inexplicable event, her mind struggling to comprehend what had just transpired. Her thoughts were a jumbled mix of fear, confusion, and disbelief, as she tried to make sense of the strange and terrifying phenomenon.

With a sense of trepidation, Lili meticulously searched every corner of her room, scrutinizing every nook and cranny for any sign of an intruder. She moved slowly and deliberately, her eyes scanning the shadows for any hint of movement or presence. However, her efforts yielded nothing, leaving her with the unshaken feeling that she was indeed alone. The eerie silence and the unexplained phenomenon had left her with a lingering sense of unease, her mind racing with questions and fears.

The living being she was searching for seemed to be nowhere to be found, yet the unsettling feeling persisted, refusing to be dismissed. Lili's heart continued to race, her senses on high alert as she tried to shake off the feeling of vulnerability and fear. She knew she had to find a way to calm down and regain control, but her mind was a jumble of emotions and her body was still trembling with fear.

Despite her initial inclination to dismiss the experience as a mere dream, Lili couldn't shake off the nagging sense of reality that lingered long after she had regained control over her body. The vividness and intensity of the encounter were far too pronounced to be relegated to the realm of subconscious fantasies. Moreover, the presence of a ticking clock, a tangible and mundane element, only served to further reinforce the notion that this was an event rooted in reality, rather than the ephemeral world of dreams.

Lily's mind grappled with the implications, struggling to come to terms with the unsettling truth. She was well aware that sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming could be profoundly realistic, but this experience defied categorization. The sheer terror and helplessness she had endured, coupled with the unmistakable sense of a malevolent presence, convinced her that this was an encounter of a far more sinister nature.

With a growing sense of trepidation, Lily confronted the unthinkable: she had actually summoned a demon. The realization sent shivers down her spine, as she grasped the magnitude of her actions. The ritual, intended as a mere curiosity, had unleashed a force beyond her control, inviting a malevolent entity into her world. Lily's thoughts raced with the consequences of her actions, her mind reeling with the possibilities of what might come next.

As reality hit Lily like a ton of bricks, she felt her heart racing and her legs trembling beneath her. With a sense of urgency and terror, she sprinted towards the living room, her bare feet pounding against the cold floor. The darkness seemed to close in around her, making her feel like she was being suffocated by an invisible force.

As she burst into the living room, she was met with an eerie silence. The air was heavy with the scent of decay and rot, and the shadows seemed to writhe and twist on the walls like living things. Lili's eyes frantically scanned the room, searching for any sign of the demon she had summoned.

Suddenly, she heard a faint whispering in her ear, the words barely audible over the pounding of her heart. "I'm waiting for you, Lili." The voice was low and raspy, sending shivers down her spine.

Lili's eyes landed on the ancient tome that lay open on the coffee table, its pages fluttering in the breeze like a dark wings beating. She felt a chill run down her spine as she realized that the demon had been summoned, and it was closing in on her.

With a sense of desperation, Lili turned to flee, but her feet felt rooted to the spot. The whispering grew louder, more urgent, and she felt a cold breath on the back of her neck. She knew she was running out of time, and the demon was closing in.

Lili's eyes instinctively clenched shut, driven by an overwhelming terror that dared not confront the horrific apparition standing before her. Her eyelids squeezed tight, as if to barricade her mind from the unspeakable horror that threatened to shatter her sanity. The mere thought of gazing upon the demon's countenance was enough to freeze her very soul, and so she cowered behind the fragile barrier of her closed eyes, praying for the terror to pass.but fate has some other plans decided for her.

As Lili's eyes opened slowly, she felt a strange sensation, as if an invisible force was compelling her to look. She tried to resist, but her eyes seemed to move of their own accord, drawn to the presence in front of her like a moth to a flame.

"Welcome, Lili," a low, raspy voice whispered, the words caressing her ears like a cold breeze on a winter's night. "I've been waiting for you... for so long."

Lili's gaze fell upon a figure shrouded in darkness, its features obscured by shadows that seemed to writhe and twist like living things. Yet, she felt its eyes upon her, piercing and unblinking, like two black holes sucking all light and hope out of the room.

"Who are you?" Lili managed to stammer, her voice barely audible over the sound of her own ragged breathing.

The figure chuckled, a dry, mirthless sound that sent shivers down her spine. "You know who I am, Lili. You summoned me... and now you can't escape."

Lili's mind raced as the figure began to move closer, its presence suffocating her like a shroud. She tried to step back, but her legs felt heavy, as if rooted to the spot, unable to move or escape.

"Don't be afraid, Lili," the demon whispered, its breath cold against her skin, making her flesh crawl. "We're going to have a lot of fun together... forever."

Lily's heart raced as the demon's face began to take shape, its features twisted in a grotesque grin that seemed to stretch across its face like a macabre mask. She knew she was doomed, trapped in a living nightmare from which she might never awaken.
