CHAPTER 3

" so, tell me, why did you change your mind? " Jennifer said curiously.

" we were going to come visit you before midnight and sleep over " Jennifer said and they was an hint of excitement in her eyes.

" don't tell me you have a secret date here that we don't know about? " She whispered. I rolled my eyes at her.

" two reasons, and a date is not included " Katherine said and gulped up the rest of her punch. " first " Katie paused then continued. " it's my birthday, and secondly, my dad and my annoying brothers made me come " Katherine said.

" can we switch dads? " Jennifer said and Katherine looked at her dumbfounded.

' why would she want to exchange when she has a great dad ' Katie thought then realized it was a joke and chuckled. Not that her dad wasn't great too but she will never want him to leave her.

" why would you suggest that? " Katie asked.

" cause my dad is always trying to stop me from going to parties and yours is forcing you " Jennifer said and Katherine laughed out.

maybe it's because you are too much of a party animal " Katherine said.

" I can't help it, its my thing " she said proudly at herself and Katherine couldn't help but smile at how funny her friend is.

" hey KTY, have you seen Arnold anywhere? " Chloe asked looking worried.

" no I haven't " Katherine replied.

Chloe and Arnold have been dating for almost two months now and she's already obsessed with him. Arnold was their senior in school. Katherine doesn't like Arnold on bit. He seems to be hiding something from the world, something dark. Katherine always feel that darkness whenever Arnold was around them. Katie had thought of warning Chloe about him and how she feels towards him.

" I know she loves him or whatever, but something's off with him and I think Chloe should know " Katie whispered to Jennifer while watching their backs in front of them.

" I don't think you should Katie, besides Arnold makes her happy and I haven't seen her this happy in years " Jennifer said reasonably.

Jennifer was right, Chloe had gone through so much and she didn't wanted to be the friend to take her happiness away. Since Katherine couldn't tell Chloe, she told Jennifer about how weird it feels around him but Jennifer would only say she is over thinking it because she cares a lot. Katherine thought for a second, maybe she was or maybe she wasn't .

Katherine doesn't understand why she was the one that feels this way. All the girls in school are blinded by his gorgeous face. Arnold was indeed handsome and Katie can't deny that. Chloe never asks about his whereabouts when he doesn't show up as expected which is so awkward since she claims to in love with him.

Chloe doesn't know anything about him except he was handsome, a good kisser and all the other nonsense she brags about. She really doesn't know his family, wether he has a family or not, his other sides, his favorite things to do and the worse part is that she does whatever he tells her to do. It shocked her friends because the Chloe they knew didn't like to be controlled, especially by boys.

" have you called him? " Katie asked.

" I can't, some idiot crushed my phone by accident " Chloe hissed.

" okay, I'll call him for you " Katie said searching inside her purse for her phone. Then she cursed inwardly ' shit ' .

" I must have left it inside my car, let me go get it " Katherine said and walked away.
