I was suddenly blinded by the sunlight as I pried open my eyes, “Ow! Ow! Ow!” I yelped from the shock of the morning light. “Ugh…” I groaned because of how I hated walking up early in the morning and as I
decided to go back to bed, I heard a familiar yell from downstairs.
“KRISTEL MARGARET SUMMER I KNOW YOU’RE ALREADY AWAKE! DON’T YOU DARE GO BACK TO SLEEP! YOU’VE GOT SCHOOL TODAY!” My annoying nanny screamed with anger.
“YOU DO KNOW YOU CAN JUST SAY IT WITHOUT DESTROYING MY EARDRUMS!” I yelled back before I sat up and groggily went to the bathroom. “Ugh… Another year at college and It’s the last one before I graduate. To be honest, I really hate to leave but then again no school.” I chuckled as I splashed cold water against my face.
After I finished freshening up for the morning, I went downstairs for some breakfast and as I descended the stairs, I instantly saw my most favorite and annoyingh person in the world along with my equally favorite , “Good morning Che’Minda!” I smiled as I greet her. “Good morning too sleepy beauty!” She said with a chuckle.
Since birth, Che’Minda was always there for me. I never really knew who my real parents as I lived my first year in an orphanage. Lucky for me, I was the one she chose to be her adoptive child and after that she gave me a home to live in, food to eat, a school to learn in, and the most important of all things. Her never ending care and love for me.
I looked at her with a smirk. “Mindaaaaa, how many times do I have to tell you! Stop calling me sleeping beauty in the morning; it’s such an embarrassing nickname.” I rolled my eyes at her Ken chuckled a little. Minda then closed the fridge and leaned on it, “Honey, it’s just my way of saying how I love you.” She smiled and laughed. “Yeah, we love ya.” Ken merrily chimes in with a laugh.
That’s Minda’s Son, we grew up together and matured together. Honestly he’s the best person I ever met; he’s like a full blood brother to me. I then took a glance at the clock before realizing class starts in 30 minutes. “Oh shucks! I have to go!” I quickly gather my things and kiss both Che’Minda and my lovely brother before rushing to my car and starting up the engine. The engines roared as I drove my way to school.
10 minutes later
I arrived at school and parked my car in the school parking lot. I sighed, “Welcome home, Margaret…” I said to myself as I entered the campus grounds of Quinn Academy, a school of that mainly focuses on arts and academics.
‘‘So… Let’s meet up a-WHA!’ ‘A girl bumped into me while I was focusing on texting my friend. The girl fell down on her rump as her books and glasses sprawled across the floor.
The girl quickly took my hand as I helped her up.
“I-I’m so s-sorry, Miss Margaret!” She stuttered with her apology as I picked up her glasses and several books from the ground. “Hey, don’t be. It was actually my fault since I was too focused on my texting.” I smiled as I handed back her things.
“Go ahead, you’re gonna be late to your classes if you don’t hurry. Freshmen shouldn’t be late to their first day of school”
“T-Thank you, Miss Margaret!” She stutters again.
“Before you go, drop the Miss Margaret thing okay? Just call me Kristel.” I looked at her eyes along with a warm smile.
“O-okay!” She bows before quickly taking her leave.
A few minutes later
After that ordeal, I walked straight to my class and the moment I opened those doors of my class, I saw my erratic classmates come to greet me.
“Hey! There’s our favorite girl!” I quickly recognized the voice of my friend Tayler who is one of the top students.
“Hey Tayler, what’s up?” I said with a smiled as exchanged kisses on the cheeks.
In our class, we are exactly ten students and we consider this section our second family.
This room isn’t just any ordinary classroom. This room has sofas, a kitchen and many other things that make this classroom special.
“Welcome home, Margaret! How was your vacation?” Candy greeted me with a hug.
“It was actually great guys. It’s really great to be back!” I replied warmly as I hear a couple of girls we talking about something.
“Hey Mars, is it actually true that we’re going to have a new student in our section?” Asked Sheila,
“Yup! It’s true and I hear that the new student is a boy!” Hanna lets out a girly shriek as she finished.
“I’m already starting to get curious what our new classmate looks like.” Sheila asked herself.
“Come on, Hanna!” I’m still here!” Jacob said with a hint of jealousy.
“Just stop, Jacob. You’re not even my type,” Replied Hanna.
“OUCH!” We yelled in unison.
“W-what the hell, guys!” Jacob stuttered with his cheeks red. We roared with laughter with Jacob’s reaction.
The laughter slowly subsided as our advisor came in the room. “Okay class, please be seated.” Our advisor said with a calm tone as we quickly sat in our favorite seats.
Come to think of it, its been years we were the only students in our class why would they allowed another one?
