Ethan took a deep breath. “I’ve really enjoyed spending time with you. You’re smart, funny, and… I like you, Lena. I’ve liked you for a while now.

” Lena’s cheeks flushed with warmth.

I… I like you too,

Ethan. More than just a friend.”

A smile broke across Ethan’s face, and he reached for her hand, squeezing it gently. “I was so nervous about telling you. I’m glad we feel the same way.”

Lena laughed, the tension melting away. “I was nervous too. I kept wondering if you’d ever notice how I feel.

”Ethan chuckled. “How could I not? You’re amazing.”

They sat there, hands intertwined, basking in the relief and joy of their mutual confession. It felt like a dream, and Lena never wanted to wake up.

“I know it’s sudden, but would you like to go to the school dance with me next weekend?” Ethan asked, his eyes hopeful.
