Chapter 5

“Excuse me?” Khy asked in annoyance, his voice cutting through the murmur of the crowd.

A smirk slowly appeared on Black's face as he relished Khy's reaction. The room fell silent, the tension palpable as everyone turned their attention to the unfolding confrontation.

"You heard me." Black's voice became more intimidating. "You better kneel in front of me, or else I'll have to punish you. Your choice."

A cold smile crept across Khy’s lips, matching his icy demeanor. He took a deliberate step forward, closing the distance between him and Black. The air around him seemed to grow colder, an almost tangible frost seeping into the atmosphere.

“Punish me?” Khy’s voice was steady, calm, yet carrying a sharp edge that sliced through the tension like a knife.

“You overestimate your power and underestimate mine.”

He let the words hang in the air, each syllable resonating with an unspoken threat. The crowd’s silence deepened, the weight of the moment pressing down on them.

“I’ll give you one chance to reconsider,” he continued, his gaze unwavering.

“Because if you think I’ll kneel, you clearly have no idea who you’re dealing with.”

Black’s amused smirk faded, his eyes widening in surprise at Khy’s unexpected reaction. It was rare for someone to speak to him in such a manner. However, his stunned expression only lasted for a few seconds before he regained his composure, the smirk returning to his lips as he chuckled lowly, the corners of his eyes crinkling.

"Well, aren't you feisty." He stepped closer, his tall frame towering over Khy. "But you shouldn't underestimate the power that I hold."

The other two men flanking Black chuckled and smirked, clearly amused by the situation.

Khy maintained his icy composure, meeting Black's towering presence with unflinching eyes. The chuckles of Black's lackeys barely registered in his mind; they were inconsequential, mere background noise to the real confrontation.

"Power?" he echoed, his voice barely more than a whisper but carrying a weight that demanded attention.

"True power isn't flaunted with idle threats and posturing."

He took a step closer, the space between him and Black now reduced to mere inches. The coldness in his eyes deepened, a frigid abyss that seemed to draw in the warmth around him.

“You're mistaken if you think your stature intimidates me," he continued, his voice as cutting as ice.

“I don't bend or break. Not for you. Not for anyone."

The room felt like it was holding its breath, the tension crackling like static electricity.

“So," he concluded, his voice dropping to a near growl.

"If you want to test the limits of your power, go ahead. But be prepared for the consequences."

The air was thick with anticipation, the moment teetering on the edge of escalation. The true battle had only just begun, a clash of wills where neither side was willing to back down.

A sudden hush fell over the crowd as Black's smirk twisted into a sneer. He leaned in closer, his breath hot against Khy’s face.

"You’re making a grave mistake," Black hissed. "I don't lose."

Khy’s eyes narrowed, his resolve unshaken. "There's a first time for everything."
