Episode 5

The night after her first day at work, Abigail was unable to have a wink of sleep. She couldn't help but feel overwhelmed about every change she had brought into her life, and wondered if she would be alright.

Abigail knew in her heart that she was lonely and desolate. Sometimes she'd wonder who the first person would be to discover her corpse if she ever died, or if she was murdered. Would she ever get justice?

Such thoughts were useless. She knew there was no point, but her mind wouldn't listen.

To calm herself, she went for a long walk in the middle of the night. She left the house barefoot, with only her nightdress on, without giving a single thought about how others would perceive her. She just wanted to escape her thoughts.

It was five in the morning when she returned home.

Thereafter, a new day arrived.

It was Abigail's second day at work. Nothing special, but for her, it was a huge improvement. Although she didn't want to come, something inside her told her she should. Today would be a memorable day. She could feel it.

As soon as she entered through the door, she was showered with greetings by her coworkers. She greeted them back as she sat on her assigned desk.

“Woah, what's that?”

She gasped under her breath as her eyes fell on a note, decorated with stars and glitter on her desk.

“You are so pretty and precious! A very good morning and have a great day! :)” – the note read.

She thought it was so sweet. Immediately, she looked around to identify who might've dropped such a kind note for her.

Oh, is she the one?

A neatly dressed woman intently stared at her, her shiny emerald eyes filled with anticipation and excitement, which immediately shifted away as their eyes interlocked. Her name was Marianne.

Abigail thought, “That must've been her. I'll thank her after work.”

She smiled as she folded the note neatly and put it inside the pocket of her coat. The day continued.

It was just a regular day, with a huge amount of paperwork, and little time to relax and have fun. During her stream, Abigail received a message from an unknown number, which had become very familiar to her due to their frequent song requests. “Happy to hear from you again. How was your day?” — the message read.

She replied in a jolly manner. “Oh! Today was a boring one for sure, but you wouldn't imagine how much fun I had last night! The first thing I did yesterday after getting home was get myself dolled up for a pizza date with my friends! We hung out at the bars, and one of us was so drunk, she fell head first on the ground while dancing and remained there for at least thirty minutes!! It was so crazy!!”

Her eyes sparkled as she continued her chat about her friends, the topic slowly shifting to how not all friends are true, and that sometimes they can be the devil themselves. “I had a friend like that, and let's say it wasn't a very pleasant experience," she shared.

After playing some highly requested songs, Abigail ended her stream and headed towards the balcony to refresh herself with some coffee.
