Dr. Reyes sat back in his worn armchair, his gaze shifting between Benedict and Jenny as he contemplated their request. The room was filled with a palpable tension, the weight of their shared knowledge pressing down on them.

"I worked on temporal dynamics projects during my time with the government," Dr. Reyes began slowly, his voice measured. "But the technology you describe... it goes beyond anything I could have imagined. It's as if someone has taken our theories and pushed them to their limits."

Benedict leaned forward, his cybernetic eyes locking onto Dr. Reyes. "Do you know who might have developed this technology? Any names or organizations?"

Dr. Reyes hesitated, his brow furrowing in thought. "There were whispers of a secretive research division within the government, tasked with exploring applications of quantum mechanics and temporal manipulation. It was highly classified, off the books. I didn't have direct involvement, but I knew some of the researchers involved."

Jenny glanced at Benedict, her mind racing with possibilities. "Could they be behind the device Benedict encountered? Or is this something entirely separate?"

"It's hard to say," Dr. Reyes admitted, rubbing his chin. "But if this device is capable of manipulating time, it's likely they have some involvement. They wouldn't want such technology falling into the wrong hands."

Benedict's jaw clenched with determination. "We need to find out more. Who were these researchers? Where are they now?"

Dr. Reyes nodded, reaching for a dusty old file cabinet in the corner of the room. He pulled out a stack of files, yellowed with age. "I kept records of everyone I worked with. Names, project details, everything I could gather before I left."

As they sifted through the files, a pattern began to emerge. Several names stood out—brilliant scientists and engineers who had vanished from public record after their involvement in classified projects. "These are the key players," Dr. Reyes said, pointing to a list of names. "If anyone knows about this technology, it's them."

Jenny scanned the names, her eyes narrowing in focus. "We'll need to track them down, but it won't be easy. They've been off the grid for years."

Benedict clenched his fist, feeling the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. "We have to try. If we can find them, maybe we can uncover the truth behind this device and how to use it to return me to 2061."

Dr. Reyes nodded solemnly. "I'll help in any way I can. But you must be careful. Whoever is behind this will stop at nothing to protect their secrets."

With a plan forming, they spent the next few hours strategizing. Jenny used her network of contacts to gather information on the missing researchers, while Benedict and Dr. Reyes analyzed the device further, hoping to unlock its secrets.

As night fell over Pasay City, they reconvened in Jenny's apartment, their minds buzzing with newfound purpose. "We have leads on a few of the researchers," Jenny said, her voice tinged with excitement. "It's a long shot, but we might be able to track them down."

Benedict nodded, his gaze fixed on the time-travel device. "We have to move quickly. The longer we wait, the greater the risk of someone else getting their hands on this technology."

Dr. Reyes sighed, his expression grave. "I fear there's more at stake here than we realize. This device could change the course of history if used improperly."
