COUNT JEON
What does Jung-kook lack? Was his allowance too low? Have we not bought him the things he wanted? *hardly asked*
COUNT JEON
He is throwing a tantrum because he has never had to suffer one day in his life?!
Once again, the countess had nothing to say. She agreed with her husband. Kook had lacked nothing. They had give him (jk) everything he had asked for.
COUNT JEON
Anyhow, let's stop talking about this. Let's wait for him to get tired and come back home on his own accord.
While his words were meant to console the countess, count jeon sounded unsure. With a sigh, he tried to figure out when kook would come back.
COUNT JEON
I would say it would be a month at the longest.
The count thought that the money kook had taken would not afford him (jk) anything that he (jk) was accustomed at home.
COUNT JEON
I really can't fathom why he would run away?
He was fiddling with the tracker's letter. Eventually, he grabbed his pen and the office filled with the sound of fluttering paper.
When kook - who had been struggling and in pain - opened his eyes. His body was covered in sweat. He felt disgusting and cold. To warm his shivering body he wrapped a thick comforter around himself.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
I am in......
An elegant, old fashioned chandelier caught his eyes. He took a breath and then slowly buried his face in the comforter. Even wrapped himself tightly, but the cold seemed to seep into his bones.
Kook started to remember what had transpired before he had fallen asleep. Fang had escorted him to the annex just as his fever got worse. He had collapsed as soon as he (fang) had left. He look at outside the window to guess the time. It looked like it was close to dawn.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
The lights are still on over there.
It’s looked like the mansion's office, so it was obviously the hard - working man, Tae-hyung, who was still awake.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
What a nightmare!
He (jk) was thirsty too but pushed it away - he did not want to move even an inch because of how cold he was. Hesitatingly, he closed his eyes again and let the darkness overtake him.
After a couple of hours, kook opened his eyes again, he kept waking up because he was not used to the bed and he was sick. But above all his nightmares kept waking him up. Still, having slept a little, he was able to move around.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Let's get a towel and some hot water while I can still move.
He had medicine he could take but the doctor had told him to take it in every two days. He had to wait untill tomorrow. Kook let out a short sigh and slowly crawled out of the comforter.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
It’s so cold.......
His voice was hoarse from the freezing temperature and his teeth clattered. He hurriedly went through his luggage in the corner of the room, pulled out an extra robe, and wrapped it around his body.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
If a maid were here, she would definitely call a doctor........
He did not want anyone to know about his situation. Kook let out a short breath. Blinking slowly he grabbed the railing and slowly decided to go to the first floor.
Although he wanted to be left alone, it was impossible for him to take care of him in such a big mansion all by himself. A maid or a servant was scheduled to come to tend to the rooms every day. He could not do much about that so he just accepted it without further struggle.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Was the kitchen that way?
Holding up an oil lamp, he walked forward cautiously, trying to contracted hos blurry vision with his intense focus.
Suddenly he heard a rustle that sent shiver down his spine. The building had far fewer lamps than the count's mansion, making everything look scarier than it already is. A drop of sweat trickled down his back. He swallowed his fear and looked around.
Standing in the dark in the middle of the night of the unfamiliar halls was terrifying. He thought he heard a footstep and jerked in surprise. This time, he definitely heard the sound of heavy footstep.
Kook let out a scream and the oil lamp almost fell from his shacking hand. The man who had addressed him took a step back. A moment later, kook realised that the voice that had terrified him sounded rather familiar and opened his eyes slowly.
DUKE KIM TAE-HYUNG
What are you doing awake at this hour of the night?
Kook was so startled that he had to place his free hand on his chest to calm his racing heart.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Wha-what are you doing here, my lord?
DUKE KIM TAE-HYUNG
Ah.....
Tae rubbed the back of his neck, looking slightly embarrassed by his (jk) question. He did not want to say that he was worried about leaving him (jk) all alone after that days events, so he just said the first thing that came to his mind.
DUKE KIM TAE-HYUNG
It occurred to me that the thermostat in here is broken, so I decided to check on that while getting some fresh air.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Ah, is that so?
Under any other circumstances, he (jk) would have questioned him why the duke himself would come to fix the thermostat in the middle of the night, but he was too flustered to think things through. The best reply he could give him (tae) was not other than a nod.
Tae furrowed his brows as he tried to look him up and down, although he kept her distance - he was wondering why he (jk) did not come any closer. He took a step forward and he (jk) matched him, retreating a step. He was sure he (jk) was hiding something. His sharp eyes, used to anticipating demonic monsters moves perfectly, served him (tae) well - he could not help but notice his (jk) awkward twitching.
