JEON JUNG-KOOK
Yes. I'm sorry. Please have fun without me. * stood up from chair*
JEON JUNG-KOOK
I'd like to excuse myself. I'm done with dinner.
Enphric watched Kook walk away and also got up.
JEON ENPHRIC
I'd like to excuse myself as well.
Count Jeon nodded, puzzled.
COUNT JEON
Okay, both of you have a good rest.
It was not uncommon for Kook not to attend family events, so his father didn't ask why he wouldn't this time. Instead, he just narrowed his brows, thinking that something didn't feel right, but his two oldest children had already left the dining hall.
Kook headed for the stairs, looking to go straight to his room.
He heard Enphric's low voice calling from behind.
Kook really didn’t feel like having a conversation with anybody right now. he wanted to just ignore Enphric and go to his room, but he (enp) was one of the few people who at least tried to understand how he felt—not that it was enough.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
What is it? I’m very tired and need to rest.❄️❄️❄️
JEON ENPHRIC
I heard something happened and father yelled at you. Are you okay?
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Yes, I apologized to him about that.
JEON ENPHRIC
I think he’s deeply worried about how sick Abelia is. Please understand him.
Kook frowned hearing Enphric’s words.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
I do understand.
And he did. That's why, all this time, he had been holding back, apologizing first, and conceding.
JEON ENPHRIC
I’m only saying this because you look upset. I mean, anyone would be if they were always told to understand everybody else’s actions. If you’re mad about the birthday thing, you can say so.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Even if I do say something... nothing will come of it.
Nobody would listen. He knew that they would just find fault with him and call him immature.
That’s how it worked. Nobody had said the words yet, but Kook was filled with dread even imagining his parents saying them. he was afraid that reality wouldn’t be too different from his imagination.
JEON ENPHRIC
Don’t forget that father and mother love you as well.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Father and mother love you and the twins, not me. My only special talent is that I’m healthy.
JEON ENPHRIC
Jungkook. *almost yell*
Enphric’s scolding voice made Kook slap his forehead. This had been his last meal with them, and he’d thought he would leave with at least one good memory. he had even contemplated saying something about his departure since they were his family. All those thoughts and concerns were gone now.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Enphric, I have a headache. Let’s talk some other time.
JEON ENPHRIC
Join us at the picnic.*more like order rather than request*
Kook’s hand waved Enphric’s suggestion away dismissively.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
I don’t want to. I’m not going.
he raised his (jk) head and looked at him, taking in his honey-blond hair and blue eyes. He looked like a prince from a fairy tale, but he was always so gentle and considerate. he (jk) mused on how remarkable he and his many talents were.
JEON ENPHRIC
Our parents love you, as well.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
I am their child. They must have an ounce of love for me somewhere in their hearts. *mockingly*😒
Kook said, nodding. His stern glare did not match his tone.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
I’m not trying to deny it like I’m some sort of an immature child.
Enphric gave Kook a questioning look.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Nonetheless, it’s always Abelia, Feldon, or you that matters more to them, not me.
JEON ENPHRIC
That’s not true.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Yes, it is. Please… Just go. I just want to be alone.*annoyed*
There had been times when Enphric’s words had comforted him, but not now. He (jk) realized he was on the edge of losing his (jk) temper.
He raised his voice so much that his throat hurt from it. he rubbed his neck and twisted his face.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
I am begging you, please.
JEON ENPHRIC
Okay. Let’s talk some other time.
He left Enphric behind and headed straight to the second floor. It felt as though somebody had poured cold water over him (jk). As if somebody was punishing him for his stupid second thoughts.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
☁️☁️I didn’t think I had any more feelings to be hurt. Especially when it’s probably my final birthday.☁️☁️
he wondered why nobody felt sorry for not celebrating his birthday. That everybody took it for granted that he would agree with their plan was a great upset for him.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Why does even the last memory have to be bad?💔🙂
he went into his room, locked the doors, tossed his shoes off, and buried his face in the covers.
JEON JUNG-KOOK
Would I have more friends if I was famous for my drawings? If I had some friends, I wouldn’t be so fixated on my family or so unhappy.
Kook laughed sadly. After all, what kind of friends could he make when he couldn’t even attend tea parties because of having to look after Abelia? His thoughts kept going in circles, but nobody noticed his lonely sobs throughout the night. he didn’t get much sleep, but he woke up to a bright morning on his last day at the estate.
After a short deliberation, he decided to leave only a short letter saying he was going on a trip. he didn’t want the family to think he was kidnapped or send the estate’s private soldiers looking for him, nor did he want to detail everything that had led to his decision. All of his thoughts combined had boiled down to one sentence.
Kook put on the robes that he had bought for his trip and left the mansion when the guards were changing shifts—he had calculated the time beforehand. This way, thankfully, nobody saw his red, puffy eyes.
He got on the public carriage he had arranged a seat on, which was going to the empire’s capital, Aios. From there, he was going to take a different carriage headed to the village of Lynlock, a hub for travelers. Then, he was going to look for merchants or small carriages heading north.

Of course he will avoid a "FAMILY" event since he's not even a part of your family
