The Great Heroes Tournament

"LADIES AND GENTLEMANS TODAY WE HAVE AN IMPORTANT EVENT FOR ALL OF YOU!" Teacher Xue was on the stage announcing the start of the Great Heros Tournament. "This year we have some promising students participating today."

"That's right, teacher Xue." Yu Mingzhu started. "This year we changed the reward for the winner of the tournament."

"The reward isn't like any other reward from before, but what's the point of announcing the award before the end of the tournament." Teacher Xue continued.

They were standing at the top of the Training Arena. Stage was specially placed so that everyone could hear them loud and clear.

"That's right, Teacher Xue. If you want to know about this year's special award for the winners of the tournament. Make sure to watch until the end."

Yu Mingzhu was one of the daughters of one of the chiefs from Alliance who built this school. Hence why she's announcing the start of the event this year.

"Rules are rules. The ones who are able to participate in this tournament are students from Accelerated class and of course the last two from the Special class." Teacher Xue was announcing.

"That's right. With a good placement even Yu Renjie, with the minus 60 points will be able to graduate from the Special class." Yu Mingzhu announced while looking at Renjie who was standing with other students at the center of the arena.

Hearing that Renjie hid his face from embarrassment. /Why are you doing that! I don't want any of the attention!/

"Let's explain the rules. There are eight fighting grounds. Students would get paired with opponents randomly for the first round. After the first round, the student who won the last battle would fight the other student who also won his last battle continuing until the grand finals." Teacher Xue started explaining.

"That's right, Teacher Xue. Students can use only their Qi. No weapons included! Battle ends after one of the students gets pushed out of their Fighting ground, one of the students gets knocked or one of the students can't continue fighting." Yu Mingzhu continued.

"I believe we explained everything. May the best student win!" With that, Teacher Xue announced the start of the tournament.

Guards immediately distribute every student in their Fighting ground with their opponents randomly selected. There were 24 students. 22 from the Accelerated class and 2 from the Special class.

Renjie wasn't in the first round. He would have to wait for the second round with 7 other students, while Tang Tang is in the first round.

"I think I got lucky, Renjie." A familiar voice came from behind.

Renije turned around. Looking at little Zhan. Same student pissed off Renjie at the training ground before.

"I am definitely making it into the next round!" Zhan said while having a smile on his face. Looking down on Renjie.

"Why are you so sure about that?" Renjie asked while having a potential answer in his head.

"Take a look at the builtboard. You will be fighting me in the first round!" Zhan said with a grin on his face. Confirming Renjie's suspicions.

"We'll see about that, Zhan." Renjie said while turning around, looking at Tang Tang.

Tang Tang was fighting a normal attribute Qi user. Normal Qi users don't have any special Qi technique. They use their Qi to strengthen their bodies. Allowing them to block, punch and move more efficiently with more power.

Tang Tang knew that. All she had to do was keep her distance and she would most likely win. She used Metal dance Qi. Qi mastered from the Tang family. Her Qi technique allowed her to control metal tools around her body.

Tang Tang was throwing her knives towards her opponent, missing every shot. Her opponent was running around her in a circular direction from Tang Tang.

Tang Tang threw all of her knives. Leaving her with nothing to fight with. Seeing that, her opponent immediately started rushing towards her.

All Tang Tang did was raise her right hand pointing it towards the boy with an open palm. She closed her eyes, concentrating on something. After closing her fist, something flew towards her opponent.

3 knives got stabbed in the boys back. Tang Tang activated her newly developed skill called…

*MAGNETIC FIELD*

Tang Tang opened her eyes while all of her knives previously dropped on the ground started flying towards her opponent. Stabbing him multiple times. Boy was two meters away from her, barely standing. All bloody he dropped on his knees completely in disbelief.

Renjie was amazed. Before, while Tang Tang was shooting at that boy. He was confused why she was only shooting that boy on one side of the arena. While completely ignoring him on the other side of the arena.

It was a smart move from Tang Tang. Her Magnetic Field skill forced all of her metal tools to fly towards her. If there was a knife behind her, that knife would fly right towards her, potentially stabbing her in her back.

While leaving the arena clean behind her. She ensures that all her attacks would go towards her opponent, stabbing him from every direction.

"Ground NO. 6, winner Tang Tang!" Guard said while pointing Tang Tang to exit the Fighting ground.

Tang Tang won her first match.

"Good job, Tang Tang." Renjie praised Tang Tang on her win. She was second to finish her match.

Renije was now waiting for his turn. Slightly nervous.

Every student has to finish their battle before new rounds could start.

/Come on! Wake up already!/ Renjie had a worried expression on his face.

*Flashback*

Few hours before the start of the tournament.

"Renjie, you needed me?" Uncle Li asked Renjie while they were deep in the forest.

"Uncle Li, we have a problem."

"What's wrong, Renjie?"

"I can't use my White Lotus Qi."

"Let me check it." Uncle Li placed his hand on Renjie's chest. Checking his Internal Energy.

Uncle Li was searching for The Great Lotus Demon.

"This isn't good." Uncle Li started. "The Great Lotus Demon is asleep. You won't be able to use her Qi while she's sleeping."

"What am I going to do Uncle Li? Tournament will start in a few hours." Renjie was worried.

He can't use his normal Qi, he will definitely expose himself that way.

"You will have to wait until the Lotus demon wakes up. Until then don't use your Qi" Uncle Li said while giving him something.

*End of the flashback*

Soon enough everyone finished their battles. From 16 students only 8 passed the first round. Now the second row is coming. There were 8 students.

Renjie was standing at the ground NO. 4. He was fighting Wang Zhan. Cocky student who pissed him off last time.

"May the second round… begin!" Teacher Xue said while paying a great attention to Renjie.

*BLACK LOTUS RAY!* Zhan started with a long reneged attack.

Renjie barely dodged Zhan's attack. Zhan ray passed near Renjie's head. Moving his hair backwards.

Renjie's eyes widened. /What, he's a black lotus user?/ Renjie was shocked.

Before many years there was a Great Lotus Clan. They were masters in good and bad energy. They weren't exactly allies with the Demon cult but they were in good relationships with each other.

After unknown reasons the Lotus clan got split into two. Good and bad, or more commonly known as White and Black Lotus clan.

/What? I thought Black Lotus clan got destroyed from Alliance Forces a few years ago/ Renjie thought with disbelief.

Zhan didn't stop there. After his attack he rushed towards Renjie who was still left with no Internal Energy to use.

Renjie was in his male form. While in his male form he is only able to use his Demonic Qi. While in his female form, Renjie is only able to use his White Lotus Qi. With no way to control it, every new morning there is a chance of changing his form, completely subconsciously.

Few moments later Zhan was in front of Renjie.

*BLACK LOTUS FIST* Zhan shouted as he slammed his fist towards Renjie. Renjie, without using his Qi, blocked Zhan's attack with his arms in the shape of an x.

Without any Qi coming from Renjie, Zhan's attack sent Renjie flying backwards.

Renjie flew a few meters behind. He was right on the edge of their fighting ground. One step backwards would definitely disqualify him.

Zhan knew that so he immediately rushed towards Renjie. One little push and he would win this battle.

*BLACK LOTUS FIST* Zhan used the same skill as before. He was a few moments before punching Renjie.

Renjie didn't know what to do so he acted on his instincts. He barely dodged Zhan's attack by moving to his right. Renjie made a spin in a counterclockwise direction. By doing so he accidentally pushed Zhan with the back of his hand.

Zhan had a massive momentum. Even without Renjie's push he would have hard time stopping on time, before exiting the Fighting ground.

CRASH

Zhan fell on the ground face first. Renjie's little push made sure that he would definitely step outside of the Fighting Ground.

"Ground NO. 4, winner Yu Renjie!" Guard said while pointing Renjie to exit the Fighting ground.

"That's not fair! She didn't do anything!" Zhan was pissed that he lost against Renjie.

"You stepped outside of the Fighting ground. Rules prohibit exiting the Fighting ground while battling another tournament participant." Guard explained with a serious look on his face. "You did this to yourself. Now take responsibility for it!"

With that Renjie won his first battle.
