The royal flirts with....horses!?

I wake up with continuous banging on my door.Lyra screams at the top of her lungs telling me to wake up“Angelina!!! It's time for work, bloody get up will you! The one who gets punished by Coco every time you you oversleep is me because somehow it's my responsibility to freaking wake you up!!! Get up up you bi-”

“ okay okay I'm up” I shout before she curses so that the whole neighbourhood can hear her.

I slowly open my eyes and stretch my arms and legs in exhaustion. I get of my bed and lazily open the door and shout,

“What do you want early this morning!!”

“Check-the-time” she says slowly but with a not so friendly tone and face. I turn on my heels to see the time and quickly realised it 9.30. I forgot to set the alarm again! I swiftly put on my clothes and dragged Lyra out our door at 9.40.

Food is important people!!

“Your late again!!”

“Sorry Coco, forgot to set the alarm again” I smile nervously.

She sighs with disappointment, its all she could do. There is no point in scolding me, she know I’ll do it all again.

“I’ll give you a warning this time, the fiestas are a month away. We gotta start preparing, and its gonna be different this year so please be on time, both of you!!”

“But I-”

Lyra argues before Coco cuts her off.

“No buts, Lyra to the kitchen now!! No talking!”

Lyra and I blink in shock, it seems that this years fiesta has got her on her toes .

“Yes ma’am”

Lyra marches off and Coco turns to me.

“You need a day off Coco, you are working too hard”

“We will have that talk later you need to go clean the barn”

Completely ignoring my words,while I do the same before realising what she had said

“Did you hear what I sai- wait! What!? The barn is so large how am I supposed t-”

she cuts me off again

“Aric is already working on it, you just need to give him a helping hand. Now go!!

“Need a hand?” I shout from the barn door to Aric watching him trying his very best to get the horse out of the stable.

“Yes!” he turns around and gets startled by me, I let out a giggle without realising.

“Wha- what are you doing here. Um- hi long time no see Angelina.”

“Ya hi, glad you remember my name Aric”

“It’s not a name you can easily forget” he says gently hoping I would give him a response before he lets out a nervous realisation face. One hand in his pocket and other behind his hair scratching it nervously.

“How-Um- how long have you been standing there?”

I grin at him

“Long enough to witness the royal highness getting his butt kicked by the horse and…and you calling it my love and sweetheart to lure it out”

I couldn’t hold it in, I let out laughter that covered the whole barn, tears rolling down my eyes.

“If it can make you laugh like this, I’ll do it again”

I stop laughing slowly hearing his words. I wipe my tears, clear my throat and walk towards him.

“We haven’t seen each other in 3 weeks, you start to flirt with horses huh Aric?”

“Well, you weren’t there so who else can I flirt to”

I ignore is comment and walk past him, I pat the horses back and grabbed his lead and walk him out of the stable.

“Try gentleness with action instead of words”

I look dead into his eyes and break out into grin.

He huffs

I finally take a good look at him, he was drenched in sweat. His gold hair sticks to each other forming loose curls that falls in front of his face covering his ocean blue eyes.

He notices that I’m staring at him, he walks towards me carrying a gentle smile.

He stands inches away from me….
