The mysterious boy

I walked closer to take a clear look at him, he didn't seem to have any hair which meant that he was from loominara. Our enemy kingdom, those celestials can't grow their hair until their 20th birthday, their hair is basically decides their living status. Our kingdoms have been in dispute since…I don't know…forever??

It looked like the boy was drowned in his thoughts, i didnt want to get banned from my own kingdom because of a loomi. I turned my back to look for the path I came from…

He spoke,

“Leaving so soon huh lil sprout?”

I snapped

“Who are you calling little, you are not much older than me are you?”

He smirked, “haven't had lunch yet i see”

“No” i replied grumpily

He took the fruits that he had placed on a napkin for himself and stretched his arms to give it to me.

I showed him visible hesitation

“What cant take things from a loomi huh? Try not to judge people before getting to know them, who knows you might be one day showing a face to your future husband who hasn't got to know you yet”

I gave him a look, and took the fruits from him.

I quickly devoured a whole fruit and asked him with a mouthful

“What are you doing here?”

He doged the question

“Haven't elders thought you not to eat with a mouthful and slow down the food is not gonna run” he sat down as he said that

“You never know what and which things have arms and legs in our kingdom” i say as i sit down beside him

“Well, i cant argue with that, who are you? And what are you doing here?”

“Its a long story which also seems to be none of your business”

“Fair enough, you don't ask me and i don't ask you”

“How am i supposed to address you?” i ask as i finish the last fruit

“Yours” he smirks looking into the abyss

“One ar’nt you underaged to flirt, two thats one of the lamest and oldest ones” i look at him with a hint of annoyance

“There is no age for flirting my love”

I roll my eyes to his comment

We talked and argued and talked

The sun was setting

“Shouldn't you head back?”

“Shouldn't you”

“I am”

“Oh”

“Situation huh?”

“Yeah”

“Say what– things will be alright when you get back, plus the one who gave birth to you must be deathly worried” he smiles

“I doubt it, but you're right I got nowhere else and my place is probably safer than here… so you'll be here tomorrow?”

“Why fell for my charm” he asks with a grin so wide that it reaches to the dimples on his cheeks

“Sure, we’ll call it that” i say wIth pure annoyance

“Probably not, doubt I’ll be alive” he says as his grin fades

“WHa– why do you return then?”

“Mom” he says with a fake smile.

“Your world huh?”

“The reason that I am still breathing”

He pulls himself up and brushes the dust off of him, he looks at me sitting on the ground, gives a cheeky smile “don't miss me too much love” he sprints off the opposite direction i came from leaving behind his odd scent.

I realised that I had got a crush on a loomi even before I knew what the word crush meant. I went back to Atheria, as I guessed no one noticed that I was gone. As I entered I could see everyone gushing over my twin Elysia over how smart, talented and gorgeous she was.

I sneaked out every single day after that. I returned to the forest in hopes of seeing him once again, but it was like he never existed. I began to wonder if he was only inside my head or if he was still alive.

I was reminiscing about the past while I was serving the customers.

A hand grabbed the back of my apron and pulled me back, I was completely zoned out. I didn't even realise that someone had pulled me, it took me a complete 2 seconds to process it. A thin and pale hand wrapped my waist and the person holding on to me whispered in my ear
