The War Of Trust
I never thought I would spend my evening running away from a bunch of guards dressed up as….well….. I don't know…..humans?? Let's just say they don't usually look like that.I could see from the corner of my eye that they were catching up. I had to lose them. I have no idea how the guards were able to run with the body of theirs in a somewhat narrow street. If I wanted to lose them my only way was to find a narrower alleyway and lure them into a trap, and there it was….MY ALLEYWAY…I may or may not have named it on whim….like come on..I was trying NOT to die. I ran straight into it. I forced myself to run in it even though I barely fit. I risked it all to take a look back, I saw the guards standing at the end of the entrance. As soon as I saw the hesitation in their faces I had to make my move before they morph into something else. I quickly took out my wand from the pocket I had stitched on the inside of my cuissardes. As I flicked my wand a ray of dark yellow light zipped on to the ground where I was pointing it towards. A portal to Aetheria opened up. From what I could see the portal had opened in the forest which was a few miles from the main kingdom. I looked up to see that they used up all of their energy to turn into….meerkats? Interesting choice indeed. I was glad they didnt turn into something that can fly or I would have bought some trouble for myself. I flicked my wand again to cast an illusion spell so they wouldn't notice anything. You might think how these pretty well experienced guards will fall for such a cliche trap like this but let me tell you, even though the guards my father hired are strong, buff and all that stuff. They’re brains are the size of a peanut, I mean it literally. As I suspected they came running towards me in hopes of catching me, all of them fell in the one way portal I created, just incase they try to come through the same. I checked my watch to know the time had just ticked to eight pm. “Perfect timing” I murmured to myself, cause if you need to open a portal again to the human realm you need to wait for the next full moon.
After that heck of an evening I returned to Tranquil Avenue where I have been crashing ever since I came to the human realm. It's a place where all the innocent fugitives, runaways, creatures who don't fit in their realm and many more creatures who don't have a place to stay in their own realms, all of them come to the human realm to live their lives. The backstory seems sad but in tranquil avenue, we all are a family. The avenue is built up by magic, it prevents humans from seeing the reality and builds up an illusion of a normal wall under the bridge. Only us starborn celestials can see the reality breaking the illusion. You can identify one by the star birthmark on their body. I don't have my birthmark or my starborn celestial power….yet. They only took me in because Lyra vouched for me and told them my origin. All of it sounds so cliché as if it was straight out of a book or movie that these humans write, but I can't help it if the so-called cliché is our fated reality.
I walked into coco's bar to find Lyra, coco was as usual serving her victims with a world renowned sass. 'Hey coco'
'hey angel, want some of my....what's the word for it....ha...unique, special of the day' 'anything with the word unique and special that you say, is not something that is good for any celestial' I say with a giggle 'by the way have you seen Lyra?'
'Hey you don't need to do me dirty like that, and I sent Lyra on an errand she will be back soon. How about ya kill time by serving my victims.... I mean my customers' she corrects herself when she realizes everyone was staring at her.
'Fine! But... I need an "IOU" from the infamous coco' I say sarcastically knowing I ain't getting any "IOU" from her.
I went in the locker room to get my apron when I heard coco screaming my name to serve a victim...I mean customer. I rushed outside, took the tray from the bar counter turned around and I bumped right into........
