In a fit of rage

“Pardon.”

“You’re being talked about, Miss MacCauley.” He bent down right over her ear and whispered. His voice shuddered her. Almost like a raging thunder.

She was, in fact, not scared of his voice but how close he was to her and the resonance of his voice against her ear.

“What? Me?” She questioned. “I have done no such thing,” she explained. For a moment, she was wondering why she was eager to clear the misunderstanding. On a normal circumstance, she wouldn’t. Thus, what had occurred to make her explain herself. Not to anyone else but him.

“I believe you.” His sudden words interrupted her thoughts. “You do?” She asked him and he reassured her with a nod. But why does he believe her? She knew not. Nevertheless, she found her confidence back which she had no idea she had lost. A glance at him was sure enough to make her find her confidence and that was what she needed. In a man.

“Stop it, Brielle.” She cautioned herself as her mind run wild with those thoughts.

“Were you saying something?”

“No.”

“Then. Shall we?” He offered his hand and as witty as she is, she accepted. The two made their way towards the crowd their heads held high obviously enjoying the attention the guests were giving them. But this did not last long until:

“Brielle Sadie MacCauley.” A voice, as deep as the raging storms, echoed through the crowd. She knew who it was yet she never let go of her new found CEO friend’s hand. He peeped at her to see her reaction but she was composed than usual. He really thought, “she’s got this. I guess”

The figure finally made an appearance and it was none other than her boyfriend who was probably seeing her rival as well. No matter what happens today, don’t lose your composure. She told herself. Let’s just break up with him.

“Is it true?” He enquired. “Is it true that you had an intimate affair with Mr Valdez, so you could win the award?” She rolled her eyes.

“Is this why you yelled my name? Like that?” She saw Amaya standing right behind him with a smile on her face. “You’re spreading rumours to defame me. I’ll let you have it.”

“Even if I did what does that got to do with you, Mr Rowan Edison?” Everyone gasped but Amaya seems to be enjoying the show. “Don’t classify our relationship in the midst of so many eyes lest you face damnation." She walked leisurely to him and with a smile muttered: “Let’s break up.” He froze. “As you can see, she turned to the CEO and continued: I’ve found someone new.”

“Do you even know who he is? He probably wants to sleep with you just for the night.” Rowan muttered. She shook her head and gave his card to him. Upon seeing the name on the card, he was angered. He has always wanted to collaborate with the SKY Entertainment Company but his proposal was rejected.

“How dare he now covet what belongs to me?” In a fit of rage, Rowan marched to him and without much thought launch a punch on his jaw.

Everyone including Amaya and Brielle stood there in shock.

“What has she probably said to Rowan for him to suddenly assault the CEO?” This was the thought clouding their minds.
