Till the sun rises at night

Location set: Suspicious building (Basement)

Main Actor: Harper (Focus), Echo.

Mission: Finding suspicious act in the town.

"For the love of cow milk that overflowing with its white fluid! The greenery land that wasn't seen, are you sure this is it?" What a disgusting scenery it is! Even the outsider won't do anything like this, nor the giant even the marveled. "Back off." Echo step down through the stairs, "Shouldn't we go back? There blood on this building, also it's very dark, as a clown would appear out of middle nowhere, even though, a clown doesn't match the colour of dark.", "Nay, do it yourself." He walk down the stairs ignoring the small rocks, well it just a rock.

We passed through down, down, this growing hotter and hotter, the same feeling when you did try to fit five people into a small room, and someone begun to sweat one by one, the small so foul, even a rat would kill itself by inhaling that stench. "Are you fine by these unsightly, unseen, unfeeling, ungreat place?", "Job." Guess all you think is job, isn't it. There is a door before us, he looked upon me as if to say he would go first to check, "Nay, you don't have to look back at me, I am but a cat, one sight of me, won't even helping you do thing." so he begun to go through the door, lone by himself, unafraid by the feeling, of the stench.

He opened the door, yet the door did not bid us hello at first, nor were we welcomed, as none bade us come in. "Nothing, let's return.", "Let us check further.", "The hallway is too long! All we need to do is secure the town, not delve into the whole expanse of the basement!" Despite the warning, he proceeded alone down the hallway, leaving me no choice but to follow, as when rice becomes porridge. "Wait." Said I. Something was amiss, though there was no ocean, nor sea, nor river. Echo sees cast his gaze upon the door to his left, "Is it something?", "I am opening it."

There was no moment of hesitation; Echo opened the door and swiftly drew the blade from his hip, striking—erm, kicking three pebbles already. Two rocks made their way toward Echo. "Kid you not! This is why you cannot join other mercenaries besides me!" I donned my iron fist gauntlet and struck one rock, and it fell. The hard place meant to hold the rock broke, causing it to fall, hit something, and splash some water."I can do this alone; go take a rest, rest as when the giant decides to sleep," Said Echo. "Nay, I cannot let you do this alone." Thus, we cleaned up the mess; the rocks and pebbles were cleared, some thrown into the river, and some not. Some were broken, and some were somewhat half broken.

We obtained more information from the beaten pebbles—I mean, the rocks and pebbles were adorned with some inscriptions. "We should go check for more," Said Echo. "Nay! We better not. We should inform the authorities about this suspicious activity!" He stood and walked away from the place. "Where are you going? Has you not heard me? You are not Mr. Donkey," Said I. "What will the authorities do? Send others besides us to investigate?" "Of course, that is the better option than facing something unknown like this. We do not even know what we are up against."

He ignored me and continued walking away. But know this, I cannot let you go alone, even if you can go alone. "Wait for me!" I followed him from behind as he began to walk faster and faster. "Hey, just letting you know that—" I awoke. My body felt heavy, and my mind was fading away, as if I had plummeted from the skies through the smooth clouds, only to find them unattainable, thus hitting the ground instead. I was in a panic, unaware of something. "...!" A-a hand?! I knew not whose hand it was; I simply panicked and searched for the lad. "Kid, kid! Where are you, kid!" I had never felt this panicked before; it was like a horse running for twelve hours nonstop, driven by its owner, or an overworked slave, struggling to breathe. It was not that I could not breathe; I simply could not think properly. It had been three years since I had felt this panicked. What was the first, I hadn't have time to even remember or think about it, now what important is the kid, "Seems like an explosion." That my best guess, that arm could be the kid, if so, then it could be dangerous, as for him and me.

As I did rouse from my troubled slumber, confusion clouded my senses, seeing, moving, everything feel numb. Panic surged as I think too much of Echo was nowhere to be found. Heart pounding, I did stumble through the dimly lit passages, calling out his name into the oppressive silence. Suddenly, a shadowy figure loomed ahead. Adrenaline coursing through my veins, I begun cautiously approach, hoping against hope it was Echo. But as the figure drew nearer, dread clenched to heart—it was not Echo, but an enemy lying in wait.

Instinct kicked in as I did reach for my gauntlet weapon, but I couldn't defend myself, a chilling voice pierced the darkness. "Looking for someone, are you?" it taunted, sending shivers down thy spine. With no time to hesitate, I did brace myself for the inevitable confrontation. Each move was calculated, every breath drawn with fierce determination. But as the battle raged on, it became painfully clear—I when outnumbered, outmatched.

With thy strength waning and hope fading, I know there was only one option left: retreat. As I turned to flee, a sense of defeat washed over I, leaving me haunted by the realization that Echo may never be found. And so, with heavy heart and weary soul, I vanish into the shadows, leaving behind the echoes of a battle lost.
