I could tell. From their eyes they looked confused, I would be too if I was in this situation. A random stranger appearing out of nowhere and helping in your need without any question to why they were being attacked. I started to head back to meet up with Freyja, but a scared but soft voice called for me. Yama who looked like any ordinary young girl called me. I looked back for a second and was about to leave when we heard an explosion. The villagers were in such fear they nearly collapsed. Freyja who came following me had found some of the reinforcements of the enemy and took care of them. Her sudden appearance did nearly got me to fall, but I balanced myself. She looked angry that I followed a random girl and helped them for no reason. Was she jealous? Probably no.
I took her hand and left while explaining that I felt a similar feeling. I made up a story about getting attacked and losing some of my memories. I was able to convince her and got past her deadly vision, looking into her eyes felt like the eyes of a monster that could kill you any second. Heading back we could hear thanking being given to us. One could feel the fear they had, but also the genuine helplessness because after all they were normal humans trying to have people from the God Slayer Bloodline. I had to explain the whole situation to Freyja then only she calmed down a bit.
After preparing to leave, Freyja looked upset. I had to again console her that I was not looking at other women. I know the reason why she was acting this way, Freyja is from the Valkyrie bloodline which contains dominating females and in comparison not weak males. She felt insecure about Yama, but for all she was still young. Back then if my calculations were correct she was in her teen about 16 or 17 (looked so too). She died in her mid-twenties because of fighting the gods without a plan.
Yama was waiting at the city's gate, it seemed like she was waiting for someone and her brother accompanied her too. As we arrived at the city gate they both thanked us again and offered to help us if they could. Freyja looked at me and I took them to a side. I already explained my plan to Freyja because we were close and Valkyries never backed down from a challenge, but I was not certain that they would like to get into a fight with gods. I asked what their views were on gods and they gave a negative reply which was promising. I explained my plans and told them to decide if they really wanted to tag along, after all even I wanted them to come it was their own decision if they really wanted to join the war against gods or not. Their anger towards the gods who killed their parents, made them homeless, hopeless and tried to kill them was still there. I could only hope they will take revenge on the gods just like I wanted for the suffering I had to face all that time in the depths of hell....
