Episode 9

After breakfast, I took my partner to the training with my kids. As soon as we arrived, everyone ran toward me.

"Miss Azula." They all hugged me, and I hugged them back.

"Hello, my precious children." We broke the group hug, and they looked at Alec.

"Miss Azula, who is this gentleman?"

I stepped away from them and took Alec's hand.- Kids, this is my partner, Alpha King Alec Ashnoth.

All the children looked at them in surprise, as if they couldn't believe he was the Alpha King. They approached him to ask him questions, and I noticed that Eliam and Azuma were not there. Usually, Aron or Elliot brought them early, but today they weren't there. I was about to mind-link Aron to ask when I saw Jace coming with the children. As soon as they saw me, they ran to me.

"Miss Azula." The two hugged my legs, and I bent down to hug them back."How are my favorite pupils?"

"Very well, my father brought us today because Uncle Elliot and Uncle Aron are busy with their partners."

"And they are identical, how is it possible, Miss Azula, that there are two people so alike?" Azuma looked at me confused, looking for an explanation.

"It is because they are twin sisters, they are born at the same time and they are born identical."

"So, they have their birthday on the same day, just like Uncle Aron and Miss Azula."

"Exactly dear, we are twins, we were born at the same time but we are not completely identical, although we do look alike."

Eliam looked back and saw Alec standing with the other children.- The Alpha King came with you?

"Yes, he wanted to come with me, so I brought him with me. Do you want to go say hi to him?"

"Yes." they both answered at the same time."Go then." The children went to where Alec was, and I looked up, I could feel Jace's gaze the whole time while I was talking to the children, so I knew he was still here.

"Alpha."

"Azula." He took a step toward me, and I took a step back.

"You can leave now, Alpha. I can take the children when we are finished."

He seemed to think for a moment, and finally said.- I will stay, I would like to see.

I didn't understand why he wanted to stay, but he was my Alpha, I couldn't refuse. I just nodded and turned around, and went to where the children were. I felt his steps behind me and his gaze fixed on my body, but what the hell was wrong with Jace lately? We had lived in peace avoiding each other, and now he wanted to show up everywhere I was.

"Children, everyone to their positions, we are going to start."

The children went to their places, and the training began. Most of all, I trained them in strength, strategy and fighting. They were still children, and they didn't have their wolves yet, but it was always good to prepare them for the future. These children were the future of this pack, and I was making sure it was a secure and prosperous future. Throughout the training, Jace stayed by Alec's side, the two of them silent, saying nothing, just watching the training, although I mostly saw myself. I felt uncomfortable more than half the time, and I thanked the goddess when it was time to go.

"See you later, kids. Take care."

I approached Alec, and the children were already with Jace.

"That was wonderful, you are a great teacher, it shows that you were born to be a Luna, the children of the pack seem so comfortable with you." I just smiled at his compliments and took his hand.

"We can go now, they don't need me until later."

We were about to turn around and leave when my whole body went on alert.

Rogues.

The mind-link opened, and I heard everyone shouting. I forced myself to get them out of my mind. Alec hugged me quickly.

"We have to go, my Luna."

I pulled away from his embrace.- No, I have to go get the kids.

I ran in the direction the children had gone. They always walked home alone because they all lived close to where we trained. I ran with the maximum speed my sacred powers could give me and arrived when I saw the children running toward me. I bent down, looking at them all. None were missing.

"Hold hands, we have to take cover quickly." I ran to the first house I saw, the door was quickly opened by the owner, and all the children ran in. We had practiced these maneuvers before just in case something happened. It was not very common for us to be attacked, but we were always alert. Just as the last child was entering, a brown wolf appeared running toward us. I shifted as fast as I could and lunged at him before he reached the child, claws and teeth digging into his fur. I grabbed him by the snout and bit down until I heard his bones break. His body fell inert to the ground. I turned toward the door, and all the children were already safe. I felt the mind-link opening.

"Azula, where are you?"

"Two blocks from the training ground, I just got the kids to safety."

"You have to come to the pack house, Azula. We are surrounded."

The alert went off in my body, and I ran, ran fast and hard, to the pack house. As I was getting there, two rogues appeared before me. I fought against the two of them with claws and teeth, tearing their bodies apart quickly, and continued on my way. I arrived at the pack house to witness a massacre. The pack wolves were fighting with a band of over 100 rogues. This couldn't be true.

I began to tear apart wolves with claws and teeth, my fur stained red. It seemed like there was no end to them. I realized that they were all trying to get to the same place, and when I looked towards the entrance of the house, there was Jace's wolf, but behind him, were the children, my children were in danger. A colossal black wolf was fighting and killing anyone who came near Jace. When our eyes met in the heat of battle, I knew those blood-red eyes, that was my mate. In a careless moment, one of the wolves threw my mate aside and approached Jace. I ran toward them, but they surrounded us. I grabbed one from one side, and Alec grabbed the other, but there was one left. Jace couldn't move while he was protecting the children. I had to get there, I couldn't let them hurt them, when it happened, as if in slow motion, Elaine's wolf appeared, her silver fur bathed in blood. She stood in front of them, and her eyes fell on that wolf. The two of them stood staring at each other, unmoving, when the wolf backed away, a tall, brown-haired man stared at her, mesmerized, when from his lips he uttered those words.

"Mate."
