Prince Alaric's mind was a maelstrom of confusion and anger. He, who was renowned for his wisdom and magical prowess, was now struggling to make sense of the dragon king's proposal. How could Calix suggest such a thing? Did he not know that Alaric is a man, a prince of the elven realm?
Alaric's thoughts were a jumbled mix of indignation and disbelief. "How dare he!" Alaric thought to himself. "Does he not know that I am a son of the elven king, a warrior and a mage? That I am bound to my people, to our land and our traditions?"
Alaric's anger and frustration boiled over, and he spat out the words, "You dare to propose such a thing to me, Calix? You, who have ravaged our lands and slain our kin? You, who have no care for the sanctity of our traditions and our way of life?"
But even as he spoke, the prince knew that his words were futile. Calix was a dragon, a creature of power and cunning, and he would not be swayed by Alaric's outrage. The prince's only hope was to stall, to delay his answer until he could find a way to escape or negotiate a better fate for his people. But for now, he was trapped, at the mercy of the dragon king's whims.
On the other hand Calix's mood was very bright he was very happy that he found his crush, even his ministers at the court also noticed that his mood was very delighted.
In excitement he didn't get enough sleep as he was waiting to hear Alaric's decision.
He knew that Alaric had no other choice except to choose him.
The next day he visited him as he wanted to hear his answer, "So what did you decide?" he asked.
Alaric looked at him with disgust in his eyes, "I'm man, I can't be your queen."
So this is your final decision, Calix asked.
"Hm", Alaric nodded.
Calix's face fell, his eyes clouding over with disappointment. He had been so certain that Alaric would see the wisdom in his proposal, that he would be swayed by the promise of power and protection.
"Foolish elf," Calix spat, his voice dripping with disdain. "You would rather cling to your precious pride and your outdated notions of gender and tradition than embrace the future and the power that I offer?"
Alaric stood tall, his eyes flashing with defiance. "I would rather die than betray my people and my own sense of self," he said, his voice was firm.
Calix sneered, "Very well, Prince of the woods," he said. "If that is your decision, then so be it. But know this, I will not be denied. I will take what I want, and I will crush any who stand in my way."
With that, the dragon king turned and stormed out of the basement, leaving Alaric to his darkness and his despair. The prince knew that he had just sealed his own fate. But he refused to give in to the dragon's demands, even if it meant certain death.
