Chapter 2

She couldn’t stay any longer; she couldn’t control her emotions; she took all the blame and ran back to the palace with a heavy heart. She thought that all these years her uncle mistreated only her but she couldn’t have imagined how her uncle mistreated all her citizens. As he was the only relative she had in her life, she never thought of taking over the throne from him, and had stayed quiet and obedient, even as she had become one of the well mastered people in the entire kingdom. But suddenly, things had changed.

She rushed back to her isolated room. She cried out loud right after she reached her room. Suddenly she felt very painful in her heart and in a few minutes her body became hot. She felt like she was on fire. The pain was unbearable so she cried even louder. No one was there for her. She passed out a few times.

At last, when she opened her eyes she saw her godmother. She didn’t know the reason but her godmother seemed quite happy. Her whole body was glowing and she was enchanting magic to the princess. With a smiling face she told the princess to be prepared. The princess didn’t get what she was saying, so she tried to ask her but she sensed that something was about to burst out from her body. She felt very sharp pain in her whole body and in a few minutes she was turned into a beautiful blue and red flamed magical phoenix.

Princess Yuetsho was even more confused and afraid. But her godmother seemed very excited. She was floating around her, dancing and singing. With great difficulty and the godmother’s help, the princess transformed back to human form but she still looked like a lost puppy. To ease her confusion, the godmother told her the whole story: Princess Yuetsho was the lost crown princess of bird fairyland and she was cursed by witchcraft. The pendant she had was left by her fairy mother to protect her. To awaken her inner power she had to encounter great sadness before the age of 18, and if not she would die with grave consequences. And to fully purify the curse she should make the kingdom prosperous.

Now that she had awakened her inner power, her fairy godmother tried to convince her to return back to fairyland even though she had not fully purified the curse because the princess Yuetsho was still too young and there was also a witch in the palace so it would be too difficult to make the kingdom prosperous. And also she was afraid that the princess might follow her fairy mother’s path as she was very kind. To protect the fairyland from the evil witch, her fairy mother sacrificed herself and sealed the evil witch. But princess Yuetsho didn’t agree to go back to the fairyland. As the godmother had guessed, the princess was concerned about the citizens and decided to save them from the cruel king and the witch queen.
