It’s 6 in the morning; I get up and start tidying my room, since the staff has been forbidden to do things for me. My nanny helps me sometimes, but I don’t want to bother her as she is a bit older.
After I finish arranging my room, I go into the bathroom, shower, brush my teeth, and come out to get ready for school. I love this weather we have in New York now, so I’m in a good mood.
Once I finish getting ready, I look in the mirror and honestly, if it weren’t for my height, anyone would think I’m already of age. My body is well-defined thanks to the exercise I do on weekends.
Well, I finish admiring myself and step out of my room, and unfortunately, Lisa also steps out of hers.
Lisa: “Ha! The little witch has crawled out of her cave. Where do you think you’re going? Remember that Dad punished you yesterday for disrespecting me."
"I don’t care if I’m grounded or not, I’m going to school. Can’t you see that? If I’m going to be punished just for disrespecting you, I guess I’ll be grounded for life. Now I’m leaving; I won’t waste my time with ignorant people like you."
Lisa: "You’re a damn bitch," she shouts at me like a crazy person.
I wanted to have breakfast, but my appetite vanished when I saw my dad and Luisa in the dining room.
I walked past them without paying the slightest attention, heading straight to the kitchen. I told my nanny that I wasn’t hungry, so she packed me breakfast to take with me.
I stuffed it into my bag and headed out. When I reached the entrance, I saw Dilan in his car. Dilan is my ex-boyfriend. When we had been dating for about two months, Lisa got between us because Dilan is the most popular guy at school.
And since Lisa agreed to sleep with him when he proposed, he ended up with her. He also proposed to me, but I didn’t accept.
I’m saving myself for marriage.
"Hey Alice," Dilan says to me.
"Hey Dilan, what are you doing here?"
"I came to pick up Lisa; we’re going to school together," he replies.
"Mmm, okay, well, goodbye," I respond indifferently.
"I hope you don't mind that I came to pick up your sister," he said as he took a step closer to me.
I step back and answer, "Why would I be bothered?"
"You know, since we were together and you were in love with me, I don’t think you don’t feel anything for me anymore," he responds with a mocking smile.
"Well, let me inform you that what you do or don’t do hasn’t mattered to me for a long time. And who told you I still feel something for you?" I reply with a serious face, void of emotion.
"Then why haven’t you been with anyone else since we were together? It’s obvious you still want me," he retorts.
"Ha! Dilan, do you really think that just because I haven’t wasted my time with another guy, it means I haven’t moved on? I thought you were smarter, but now I see you’re a complete idiot," I reply, and walk away.
"You know, Alice, even if you don’t want to admit it, I know you still feel something for me," Dilan says.
I stop and turn to look at him.
"What makes you think that?"
"The fact that you haven’t wanted to be with anyone else says it all," he replies.
As I was about to respond, I saw a car park behind Dilan’s, and a man got out.
Oh my god, my eyes nearly popped out; this wasn’t just any man; he was a damn Greek god.
I found myself staring at him while he was on a call, standing between Dilan and me. He was tall, probably around 6'3", unlike my height of 5'3". You could clearly see the height difference between him and Dilan, who is 5'7".
His eyes were a striking green, and it was obvious he wasn’t from around here since his accent was different. His voice sent chills down my spine, and his penetrating gaze was intense.
Dilan noticed that I was mesmerized, and the guy looked to be around 23 or 24.
"Dilan," he called to me, "why are you staring at him so much? He won’t pay attention to a girl like you."
I directed my gaze back to Dilan, thinking, "Who said I’m interested in him?"
"You were staring at him. Don’t tell me you’re going to use him to make me jealous," he said with a mocking tone.
"Maybe I'll use it, but not to make you jealous; you really have your ego through the roof, thinking you're so much more than you actually are," I said to him.
I saw Dilan's face turn red with anger.
"Then if I'm not such a big deal, prove to me that you don't care about kissing someone in front of me," Dilan replies.
"Why should I do that? You're really an idiot."
"Ha! See, you can't do it, that means you care about me," he tells me.
"That's what you think."
As I say this, I move closer to the handsome man who was standing between us just as he hangs up the phone.
