Blood Sword
“How… how did this happen?”
Ken questioned him self as he grieved heavily over the loss of his parents.
“It should not have turned out like this”
...“He was right, it should not have turned out this way, let’s go back a bit” ...
...10 hours earlier ...
......................
Silence filled the room as ken stared at his father the head of the “li clan” loose his life to the most deadliest poison on the continent.
His mind was clouded in despair but he could still hear the whispering voices of those around him.
Even though he was only 14 years of age, he was still the prestigious genius of the clan.
He quietly listened to the whispering conversations between the maids and other attendants in the room at the current moment.
“How could the master get poisoned?” A feminine voice whispered.
“That was the same question i asked myself, this must be the work of the kuda clan” whispered another voice in reply.
Hearing this, ken slightly began to look around for anyone who would look suspicious.
“What that person said makes sense, it really could have been the doing of the kuda clan, but how did they pull it off?” Ken thought to himself.
He had personal connections with the securities who watch over the gate, so he was certain they didn’t let anyone in without the permission of his father who was the head of the clan and he also knew it wasn’t possible for anyone to sneak in since his father would immediately sense the person’s presence.
He then came to a conclusion that the only people who could have pulled it off successfully where the maids who served food in the house or the chef who made them. Only they could have poisoned the food putting his father in his current situation.
While thinking about ways to interrogate the maids and chef, his father let out a loud cough that made blood pour out of his mouth and splashed on the floor like spilled milk.
Immediately, Ken ran towards his father.
“Dad!! Dad!!, are you ok?” He screamed in fear.
It still was an unbelievable scene for him, he never thought he would see the day his father would be laying on a bed looking so weak and vulnerable like a chicken waiting for its death.
His father had always been a role model to him, he had always looked up to his father which made this current situation a bit harder for him to believe.
“Dad you won’t die right?” He asked his father.
His father looked at him and forced a smile while blue veiny lines went up from his abdomen to his head.
“Ken” His father called out his name with a feint voice.
“Yes dad?” He answered
“You have to work hard for the clan members, you are the one fit for the position of the clan head” his father said while struggling to breath.
Ken noticed this and pleaded that his father stopped talking.
“Dad please stop talking, you can hardly breath. You can tell me all this later” he said to his father as tears rolled down his eyes.
His father refused to listen as he prepared to say another word.
He pulled ken closer and whispered into his ears.
“Go… to the clan’s treasury…, you will come… across a sword…” his father suddenly stopped talking.
“Dad?!! Dad?!!, wake up!!” He shouted as he pulled his father’s shirt to hug him.
But before he could make the body contact, his mother pulled him away believing he might be affected by the poison.
“Dad… dad…” he cried like a little baby at the hands of his mother.
And just like that wasn’t enough, Boom, a loud bang was heard from the clan’s entrance.
“Intruders!!!, it’s the kuda clan!!!” Shouted someone from outside the building.
Immediately, his mother picked him up and dashed out of the building through the back door.
“Where is your sister?” She asked ken.
He was still sad about his father’s death but he could understand the situation.
“She’s at the training center” he replied.
She looked at him and realized he had regained his senses, then she dropped him.
“Go to the hall and get me my sword, I’ll go get your sister” she said to him in a hurried way.
He agreed immediately and ran in the opposite direction.
On his way to the hall he immediately remembered the sword his father mentioned before he died.
And as soon as he picked up his mother’s sword from the hall, he headed towards the the family’s treasury and came across the treasury door which was 15 fts tall and 9 fts wide.
On an attempt to try and open it he touched the door and went trough it completely, to his surprise the treasury looked completely unreal and unimaginable. Like the lost treasure of a lost ancient civilization, its walls looked like they were made out of gold bars, as candles with flames formed an extravagant and luxurious chandelier above his head.
The roof was at least twenty ft tall and the treasury room was as big as 2 acres of land, the top of the room add tiny crystals all around it which made the flare from the candles reflect on it, making it look like the stars on a peaceful evening.
He was completely astonished at the sight before him, he couldn’t believe how beautiful and elegant it was in the treasury room.
He looked around for a bit and he noticed a little corner where the light couldn’t reach.
He went to check it out and to his surprise, he saw a sword with crimson red sheath he picked it out and tried to open it but couldn’t. He tried harder for a few minutes but still couldn’t open it, he wanted to drop it but he had a strange feeling like he was connected to this sword so he decided to pick it out.
He took another sword with a white sheath and made his way out of the treasury.
Only to be met by a gruesome and gory scene.
