It didn’t take long before the both of them were asleep. When they were both asleep, Haruko had turned around and put his arm around Aiko.

At 7 am Aiko’s phone rang, waking both of them up. They were both shocked to see they had been cuddling in their sleep.

“Oh shit, sorry Aiko I must have turned around in my sleep.”

“Don worry, Haruko. I like to cuddle anyways”

“Hah yeah me too”

Aiko picks up her phone and sees she had 5 missed calls from her mom and 13 unread messages.

*Aiko calls her mom*

“Oh Aiko you finally call me”

“What’s wrong mom?”

“I saw on the news Hotel B had been flooded and you never called or texted me. I was so scared something has happened to you Aiko!”

“I’m so sorry mom, I sent you a text but maybe it didn’t go trough?”

“Where are you now Aiko, did you manage to get another room?”

“Oh uh… yeah actually I met someone on the plane and they let me stay at their place”

“Oh, who is it?”

“His name is Haruko”

“Wait, did you say it was a guy?”

“Yes mom, don’t worry he’s really nice to me!”

“Give him the phone honey”

*Aiko puts her phone on mute*

“Sorry Haruko, she wants to talk to you. She can be a bit overprotective!”

*Aiko unmutes the phone and hands it to Haruko”

“Hi, I’m Haruko”

“Hi Haruko I’m Aya, Aiko’s mom. How old are you and where do you live?”

“Oh uhhh I’m 21 and live on street X”

“Hmm okay, are you a good person?”

“I’d like to say I am, yes”

“Haruko, please take care of my daughter. If anything happens to her I will make sure you pay the price.”

“Don’t worry Aya, I’m gonna make sure Aiko’s fine here”

“Thank you, can you hand the phone over to Aiko again?”

“Ofc, nice to talk to you Aya”

*Haruko hands the phone back to Aiko*

“Ugh mom don’t embarrass me like this”

“Sorry honey, you know I don’t like to trust men after everything we’ve been through with your dad”

“Yes mom, don’t worry Haruko isn’t anything like dad at all”

“Okay honey, please be safe. And call me if you ever feel unsafe”

“Yes mom, I have to go now. Love you!”

“Love you too sweetie!”

Aiko goes to the bathroom to change clothes and go to the toilet. Haruko cooks them breakfast in the meantime.

“Hey Aiko, you like eggs right”

“Yeah, why?”

“I’m gonna make us some fried eggs for breakfast!”

“Oh that sounds tasty, thank you!”

Aiko finishes up in the bathroom. She puts her beautiful long ginger hair up in a messy bun. In the sunlight Aiko’s hair shines a beautiful light ginger color, but in darker light her hair looks more of a redish color. Her eyes are light blue and is usually the first thing people notice about her. People have always told her she looks like model, she’s never seen herself in that way. It’s not that she thinks she’s ugly, rather that she thinks of herself like a normal looking girl. She’s never even had a boyfriend. She always wonders how people can say she’s so pretty while she’s never once been asked out to a date.

After what her mom had gone through with Aiko’s dad, she never had a longing for a relationship anyways. It’s never been something she’s thought much about. However, she can’t help but smile and blush whenever she thinks of Haruko. Does she like him? Does he like her? What if they never see each other again after Aiko flies back home?

“Aiko! Breakfast is ready now”

“Okay, coming!”

*Aiko sits down at the table besides Haruko*

Haruko had already put everything on the table for her. He had even cleaned the pan and put everything else away. Aiko takes a bite of the fried eggs.

“Oh god Haruko, when did you learn to cook like this?”

“Aiko it’s just fried eggs, it’s not that hard to do”

“Really? You say that but I’ve never had fried eggs this good”

“Oh, well my mom taught me how to cook. When I was 7 years old I got to cook my first complete meal all alone”

“Wow that’s so young Haruko”

“Yeah but it’s okay, I’ve always loved to cook”

“I can’t say the same about myself haha”

“So Aiko, what do you want to do today?”

“I don’t even know what there is to do around here”

“Ok I’ll think of something we can do, it will be a surprise”

“Sounds good, when should we leave?”

“Maybe at 10 if that’s fine for you?”
