"Mr. Fonseca, come into my office."

At the mansion, Evelyn had showered and put her clothes away in the closet. She was sitting on the bed with her laptop on her lap doing some editing work for a certain online platform.
Evelyn had already lost hope that a company would hire her after the incident at her previous job.
"How boring!" she says, throwing her body on the soft mattress.
"Who will this mysterious man be who doesn't want me to know his identity? Is he ugly and old? Oh, no... but why am I thinking about this?"
She hits her hands on her forehead, releasing an involuntary laugh.
"I must be going crazy, that's all it can be!" Amidst her thoughts, her cell phone starts ringing.
She quickly gets out of bed thinking it's Micaela.
The call was from a number that wasn't on her list.
"Hello! Who is this?" she asks, inquiring.
"Miss Evelyn Aguiar?" A gentle female voice sounded from the other end of the line.
"Yes, it's me!" she replies, a little intrigued.
"My name is Helen, and I work in human resources at the Norton Group. You left your resume with us a few months ago, are you still interested in working for our company? However, at the moment, the only vacancy we have is for Mr. Norton's secretary, are you interested in this position?"
"Yes!" Evelyn answered quickly without any reluctance, what she wanted was to work.
"Okay. Tomorrow, at ten o'clock, please come to the company with all your documents."
She hangs up the phone with a happy smile.
"Thank God that at least one good thing is happening."
She expresses herself slowly.
The next day, Evelyn wakes up early.
She decided to venture into the beautiful garden of the mansion. She takes an hour's walk around the huge mansion.

"Your salaries, am I the one who has to pay?" she asks softly, making the woman immediately smile.
"No, ma'am. Don't worry about that because your husband will pay us. You can rest assured."
Evelyn agreed with the housekeeper, relieved.
There was no way she could pay the employees' salaries.
She has her coffee and after finishing, she returns to the room, taking her purse.
Evelyn leaves the mansion on foot. Dereck had fired her grandfather's driver. And the cars were locked in the garage.
Dereck truly was the terror of any woman.
She goes to a bus stop but near where she found...
An hour later, Evelyn was sitting in the reception room of the Norton group.
"Miss Evelyn Aguiar, please follow me."
Evelyn follows the receptionist in slow steps to an office.
"Wait a minute, please." Gently, the young woman says, opening the CEO's office door.
"Mr. Norton, the young lady applying for the secretary position is here."
"Send her in!"
Dereck's voice was heard by the women outside the office.
"You can come in!" argues the receptionist and immediately returns to her workplace.
Evelyn takes a deep breath before entering the office.
She firmly grasps the doorknob, turning it the next second.
The wooden door creaked low but made a tedious sound to Evelyn's ears.
Evelyn entered the office and her eyes soon fell on the handsome man sitting grandly in front of her.
"Good morning, Mr. Norton!" She greets Dereck, approaching the CEO's desk.
His attention was focused on his computer screen. As always, working hard as if he were a machine.
Evelyn looked at him admiringly despite his inattention.
She found him very handsome and with a good presence.
"Good morning, Mr. Norton!" she spoke again. This time more loudly.
At that moment, Dereck raises his head in Evelyn's direction. And immediately his eyes widened, he immediately remembered the photograph with the data about his wife. He couldn't be mistaken. That beautiful redhead in front of him was his wife.
