The Legend Of Legend

I woke up, still in leopard form in my lab. The fawn and blue thing were still there. They saw me waking up and walked over to me, looking down. I still had no strength and they still had no pupils.

“Hey, you okay?” asked the fawn’s voice. Though, it didn’t move it’s lips. Was it my imagination? “I am not a figment of your imagination. I am the fawn you see before you. I am Forest. Currently, I am using my telepathic powers to speak to you because you don’t have any strength to do so yourself.” It must be reading my mind.

“I… I don’t know if I’m fine. You tell me,” I mentally said, confused. I didn’t feel alone any more. It was like there was something else in my mind. Something that could control me at any moment.

“You don’t have any physical injuries, but is your mind okay?” asked the blue thing. The two animals stopped staring at me and laid down beside me.

“Still… I don’t know what you mean,” I thought.

“Do you feel weird, like your world is upside down? Do you feel different than usual? You should. What just happened in that last training session should have changed a lot of things,” Forest cut in.

“Well… I do feel different. I don’t feel like I’m alone anymore. Whatever took control of me… what if it happens again?” I thought.

“Seriously? Have you forgotten? We are controlling our hosts right now. We are the wyrm. Parasites that live in your bodies. We are your powers. It’s a symbiotic relationship. You all keep us alive and we give you the power to protect yourself. You have the power to change the world because your wyrm is Legend. She can do much more than the rest of us. We are- and always have been her team. We follow her and would never betray her, even if it was the last thing we did,” explained the blue thing, “oh, and I never told you my name. I’m Tsunami.”

“Since your wyrm is Legend, you won’t be able to control your powers. We don’t know what we should do, so we pralyzed you. You won’t be able to move. We need to talk to Legend, so we’ll bring her out of you. Sorry. This will feel weird,” said Forest.

I saw them rise. They went a little farther away, they were preparing to pounce. I felt the energy filling my body. My eyes rolled back. It was in control. I felt my body forced onto its feet. I faced the two creatures.

“Disgraceful. You don’t have to do this to talk to me. Simply ask Alise. She knows how to summon me. As a matter of fact, she’s still awake inside. She heard but didn’t understand our conversation. Now, what do you need?” I asked, the two voices overlapping. The two animals shrunk.

“We don’t know what to do. How are we supposed to just leave your powers to someone like her?” asked Forest.

“You tell her my legend and then put her in the center of a big unpopulated area to figure it out. When she is able to escape, you know she can control her powers,” Legand said slowly like she was talking to a baby, “is that all?” she asked.

“Y… yes mam,” said Tsunami hesitantly, looking at the ground.

The energy in my body stayed, but my eyes rolled back into their regular place. I stayed standing. Were they really going to put me in a random place and let me “figure it out?” What would I do? There was silence. Uncomfortable silence. My thoughts raced through my head. Finally, Tsunami broke the silence.

“There’s a Legend about your wyrm, Legend. Her first host controlled the world until her untimely death. The rest of her hosts would live longer than most and be blessed with good fortune. However, her tenth and final host would never die. She would protect this world from evil for all of eternity. We would always be at her side. You are her tenth host. You will protect this world. You will be all powerful. You will be able to control everything. You will be the single most powerful being in existence. However, you need to be able to control yourself first. This… this is nothing compared to what you will need to do. This is a baby step. You could control everything that ever existed. You could make yourself a legend before you were even born. That is why your wyrm is named Legend. She can change the very course of history. She can wipe out humanity with a single thought. You are the one she listens to. You are the one controling that power. That power was put into you as a child. A baby with the power to change everything we know. Now you’ve grown up. Now, you can use that power responsibly. Now, you must learn how.” Stated forest.

I stood there, after that, I wasn’t so scared of being out in the middle of a social dessert with nobody to turn to. If I was that powerful, and if I learned how to rein in that power, then I would be just fine. However, if I didn’t have the power, I would die, and if I did have the power and couldn’t control it, everything would probably cease to exist.
