The day Ha-ri was kidnapped by the secret knights and taken to the palace, she cried and begged them to leave her behind. She wanted to see Sang-min hug him and mourn for her father’s death. She kept looking out of the carriage, hoping she would cross paths with Sang-min, who went to the forest to get the clay and other goods. Then he took her to the concubine villa, where other concubines of the crown prince also stayed. All of them were unhappy to see Ha-ri, but seeing her cry melted their hearts. Some of them started to comfort her; they told her about the palace comforts and how she would forget the outside world and get used to all the comforts and riches; some told her how later on she would long to spend nights with the crown prince, but none of the words made sense to Ha-ri; rather, the thought of staying there for one more second made her body shiver and tremble out of fear.
That night, Hari didn't have a wink of sleep, she kept crying for her Sang-min. The next day she didn't eat anything, and the people who comforted her also started getting irritated, as they didn't understand why she did not want to live a luxurious and happy life in the palace and rather cry for someone who was not capable of even buying her fine clothes. But only she knows the bond and happiness shared by herself and Sang-min couldn't be compared to any luxury in the world. She would rather happily live beside him in hell than stay in heaven without him.
That night, Ha-ri was taken to the crown prince’s villa against her will, her cries echoed in the night chamber, where the maids started to get her ready to spend the night with him. She cried to the point where no more tears were running down her eyes. She kept thinking about Sang-min, did he return to the house, did he know we were missing, was he well, and would he be okay without her? All her thoughts were revolving around him. The more she thought about it, the more she realized, that if she were to spend a night with the Crown Prince, she would rather die than do it.
She wiped her tears and smiled at the maid; they were taken aback. She then walked outside and entered the courtyard in the green hanbok, dressed like a beautiful angel with a smile on her face. She removed her hairpin, making her hair flow off in the air. Walking to the crown prince’s room, she looks at the moon and thinks, "Sang-min, stay strong, I will stand by you forever and ever.”. She opens the door of the night chamber and approaches the crown prince. As he turns around, she stabs her chest with the hairpin, smiling at him. She says, “I belong to Sang-min and only to him; I would rather die than let you do it.” She collapses. The crown prince becomes furious and orders the best physicians in the kingdom to save her. The whole palace goes upside down for the next few 20 days to save Ha-ri and bring her back to normal condition. The more Ha-ri rejected the crown prince, the more he lusted towards her. He didn't care if she was interested or not; he just wanted to spend a night with her in order to satisfy his ego. But Ha-ri never allowed it; the moment her body was capable of moving, she tried to take her own life.
