Blinded by only love, eyes opened to an empty space

HaniSo seemed to be buzzing with electrical excitement as she began to pull out three dresses prepared for the ball. I couldn't help but also feel as excited as her, I looked to the note and then to the pendant in my hand. It was a royal blue satin choker with a sapphire and silver heart. I looked to my chioces in dresses, the first a gold ballgown that looked as though it were made of tiny shards of glass, the second a royal blue dress made from. velvet with white patterns and lace that glittered a slight silver, the last a royal purple dress that seemed to be made of a soft material I had never known before. I looked to the purple dress, but deep in my heart, I felt it a sign to go with the blue as it matched the pendant. As I began to dress myself, I kept looking in the mirror. I looked like a pure goddess in the fit, I was never truly vain, but if this were the life I lived, I wouldn't be able to help myself. Soon, I was ready, the pendant fit almost too perfectly to my complexion, and only made me feel more excited. I could never talk to boys yet alone meet suitors. Who would they be? Would I find a noble? A royal, perhaps? Only the night would tell. HaniSo smiled at the sight of me and nodded, "Definitely fit for a princess, I can see it now. You'll be drowning in suitors. Oh, and one more thing..." she handed a royal blue mask. "It is a maskarade ball after all." HaniSo chuckled. I had never seen her laugh before, not in a way that didn't bring me harm. It was quite a change of scenery. I placed my hand on HaniSo's shoulder, her face growing serious. "Please, HaniSo, may you do one thing for me?" I asked. She smiled and nodded, listening contently to every word from my mouth. "Never change," I said. These words brought tears of joy to HaniSo's eyes. I pulled her in and hugged her, I felt a bigger win as I had not only won the loyalty and heart of someone I feared but also someone who feared me. "Madam, I simply want to thank you. I know you will bring good on this world. I knew from the moment you woke this morning." HaniSo said, looking at me, I smiled and nodded. Suddenly, my mother burst into my room, a smile on her face and her arms open wide. "My precious gem!Oh, you were just lovely today, wasn't she HaniSo? Come now, my child, it's time for us to make entry. After all, you are the star guest. " her words made her seem as though she were recording an advertisement for TV. It was loud and clear and happy. It made me feel less comfortable in my own skin. The portrait showed a completely different person, but her standing there now made me question which was the lie.

I entered the ballroom, and all fell silent, the chatter, the clinking of glasses. The room filled to the brim with men similar in age to me. All seemed to stop for a moment, their eyes on me. MariaSin entered and bellowed;"Princess LuiChin and queen LuiYun." Everything began moving again. I looked to my mother, who was smiling towards the crowd, I suppose I had to mingle. I walked into the crowd, not knowing or going in a particular direction. A man grabbed my hand and spun me to face him. He wore a scarlet suit that was cuffed with gold, his eyes a brilliant emerald, and his face tucked behind a bunny mask. "Ah, princess, you look magnificent tonight. My name is SiYan, and I will be you king, " he said, not caring a single bit about who he was talking to. This instantly pushed me away. The thought of having such a man to be mine and also be a ruler seemed a bad idea. I turned away and walked the other direction without a word.

A few hours had passed, and each man who approached me only seemed more and more vain or rude. I shook my head and realized my excitement was drained from me. I walked out of the ballroom and headed for the royal courtyard. I needed air, and the maze would be perfect to hide away. I began slowly strolling through the maze looking at all the gental and budding roses. Something was calming about the silence. But it wasn't silence I realized, I heard the softest vioce, singing. The curiosity burned in me, so I began to try find this vioce, as I drew closer I noticed that the vioce had to have belonged to a man. I turned my last corner and there he sat. A man with a royal blue suit, his brown hair slightly ruffled as he looked into the fountain he sat on. "That's really beautiful." I said, the man stopped and looked to me. His smile sunk into my heart, his blue eyes peircing into me from behind the mask. "Well I wasn't expecting to attract a goddess. But I suppose now I can say I have a gift" his words mixed perfectly between laughter and flirtatious intent. This made my cheeks burning red that they almost began to glow. He stood and slowly came to me, I felt goosebumps form as he touched my arm. He was the man, I could feel it. He looked me in my eyes, his smile widening as he asked "care for a dance?" I couldn't find the words to speak and only nodded. He began to hold me tight and we danced around the fountain. Not a single word was said, as though we'd known eachother our whole lives. "May I see you, without the mask?" I asked hesitantly. He smiled, quickly spinning me so I had my back to him. He untied my mask and as I watched it fall to the ground he blindfolded me. I felt him pull me closer as he whispered gently in my ear; "We will be bound together. I will tell you when to turn and remove your blindfold." I nodded, short of breath suddenly, I could feel my chest begin to burn up and possibly turn red, it was hard to tell with the blindfold. I heard muffled nioses from behind me but didn't dare remove my mask. I waited, and waited. Nothing had happened, not a single touch from him nor a single word. I removed my blindfold and found his mask on the ground. I looked around me but there was no one in sight. I picked up the mask and sat on the fountain, tears beginning to prickle my eyes yet again. How could he do this to me? Was it all a trick? I sat simply staring at the mask. "I see you found him." a vioce said quietly. I looked over to find the woman from court sitting next to me. "found who?" I didn't dare lift my eyes from the mask. "Your true love, the pendant had worked." she said, "I hardly think so. He is gone." I replied beginning to grow angry. "You need to find him, he's trapped. If you don't you'll lose everything." she said. I looked to her confused, I gripped the mask harder. "I know you have many questions. I simply can't answer them all. Your mission is to find him. You have five days and five nights to find him. Otherwise you will be sent to the world you actually belong" she explained, my eyes once again on the mask I looked in her direction and was overcome with questions, but she was gone.

What had she meant by my original world? How did she know I wasn't from this one? I only had five days and nights to find him but I didn't know where to start, I didn't have a name or even a kingdom. I only had a mask.
